Bleeding Rose

By Tori Warnock

AN: I was up all night trying to write this, so tiredreviews welcome.

The girl sat, at the edge of her bed. She examined the razor she held in her

hands, mesmerized by the tint of silver from the blades. "Today had been a bad day," she told herself, "and tomorrow will be worse." Tears began to blur her vision. In a slow movement, and it seemed like time itself had stopped, she sliced the rigid metal into her wrist. Thin, painful lines of blood

dripping from the wounds. She pulled out a rag, covered in old blood stains from previous cuts. The blood coats it, in the stains of blood, stories tell themselves. She mopes up the blood, slices, and then mopes up more blood. When she was finally done hacking away at her skin, she felt tired.

She glanced at the clock, "only midnight," she whispered in the dark empty room. "I'm not tired at all," she lied, knowing full well she was.

She was so tired she felt as though she could drop unconscious at any given second. Her wrist shook violently from the searing pain, and her

body ached from the lack of sleep. Her stomach rumbled with hunger. She hadn't eaten any food for almost two days now.

She sat there, smiling, in pain all over, she'd never felt so good.

For some odd reason she couldn't explain this feeling she had.

She lay there, on the cold, hard floor; she knew why she couldn't sleep.

If she did, she would wake up screaming again. She always saw that person, every time. Her breathing slowed, and she closed her eyes. Her

Body went numb, lifeless, as she drifted off to sleep, carried off by

force. She was in that same place again, with that same person again.

Suddenly the girl jolted awake, she dragged herself to the bed.

She closed her eyes, the room was dark and silent, she became lost in thought, and all she could sense was the burning sensation coming

from her wrist as it throbbed. "Pathetic," she managed to spit out,

before the darkness consumed her.
