Chapter One
The Letter had said to meet at the caterpillar's mushroom, but I had been standing here for about a half-hour, and nothing had happened. I glanced down at the paper in my hand.
Dearest, Most Beloved Alice,
I must see you. It's been so long since you visited Wonderland, and I am withering away without your presence. I find I can truly not live without you. Alice, please come back to Wonderland, and Meet me at The Caterpillar's Mushroom.
It had been mailed to my home in England, and I felt so intrigued that I decided I would return to Wonderland as soon as Possible. While I waited, I began to wonder which of my acquaintances would remember me enough to fall in love with me. Most of them barely knew me, and the others I couldn't stand.
"Please don't let it be Tweedle Dum or Dee," I whispered to myself, remembering the two constant bickering twins.
After a moment, I began walking around the Mushroom, stroking the sides, and wondering where the Caterpillar was. His Hookah was still on the fungi, but he was nowhere in sight. I sighed; wishing he was here—the company would have been nice, if a little confusing and easily hurt. I remembered telling him that three inches had been a dreadful height, even though he had been three inches. I couldn't remember if I had apologized, so I whispered: "Sorry Mr. Caterpillar," About nine years late.
It was starting to get cold—it was nearly six thirty, in London time, though in Wonderland I wasn't sure. I remembered the Mad Hatter Talking about how he murdered time. Contrary to popular belief spread by Mr. Dodgeson, who wrote a story about me, The Mad Hatter was actually a teenager. He was just as vague, but at least younger then people thought he was.
Anyway, It was starting to get cold, on this October Evening, and I made up my mind to go Home if my secret admirer didn't appear in the next five minutes. I began mentally counting, but switched to verbally when my lips started to go numb. I was at the 59 second the fourth time I had started counting when the tall grasses that surrounded the mushroom shook, like someone was brushing them aside. I cringed, and slid up onto the mushroom, where I figured I would get a bit of height if something bigger than me appeared.
The rustling stopped and The Mad Hatter, still a teenager, burst from the foliage. "Alice?" He asked. I nodded and curtsied stiffly. But that was about it; I was cold, sore, stiff and bored. And I was planning on going home in a moment, since my lover hadn't shown up.
"Hatter." I said, sitting rudely down on the mushroom next to the Hookah.
"Alice?" He asked again. This time I turned to face him.
"Yes?" Hatter's Face turned red, and he edged closer to the mushroom.
"Alice—I…l--" Hatter broke off, and I nodded, as if he was wasting my time.
"I...thinktheteasgettingcold!" Hatter Blushed.
I sighed.
Kay, first Chapter. Hate the Ending, however. It's a bit straight forward. And This story won't be long, I can tell already. Anyway, I'll start writing the next chapter, if people like it. Tell me what you think!
Note To readers: I erased the first story. Why? Well..umm…I didn't like it. So, this is the new one!!
