They were born of pure emotion. Fae always felt things more strongly than humans, but sometimes those emotions became too strong for even them to handle. And that's how fae are born, from magick and emotion {the fae never saw much use for sex}. And so, Mal was the oldest. Born out of Maleficent's shrieking fury at being brought back from the dead, only to be locked away. A girl with fiery red hair that dulled into a deepcpurple as she aged. She was born, as the fae are, into her permanent state of life: a teenager, just shy of twenty.

Maleficent never payed too much attention to her first daughter, too preoccupied with herself and her woes. And that inattentiveness was what sparked the creation of Malice. By conventional standards, he'd be her son, but he was born at twenty-three and so they were named in the way of the fae, as twins. So Malice was Mal's twin, with long pale white hair and light green skin and pure black eyes, born of her Envy.

No one really expected the birth of Amy, after that. Amy was an incarnation of Malice's materialism, born as a thirteen-year-old girl, but still counted as a triplet. She had golden irises and ginger hair, and stars splattered like freckles over her dark skin.

Malev was the last of them- born, again, of Mal, and so identical to Malice in every way possible. Even born out of the same emotion- the Envy that wracked Mal whenever she saw her mother paying more attention to Cruella De Ville or her spellbook than her own daughter.

The quadruplets had always looked after each other, defending themselves against the horrors of the Isle of the Lost. Until the announcement came: the daughter of the Evil Queen, the son of Jafar, the son of Cruella De Ville, and the Daughter of Maleficent.
