A/N: This is an AU so Link is out-of-character.
"Look around us! As a child, I always dreamed of a world below. I wanted to see the surface with my own eyes and feel the land's warm breeze on my skin. I… I think I want to live here. I always want to feel solid ground beneath my feet, see the clouds above my head, and watch over the Triforce. What about you, Link? What will you do now?" asked Zelda calmly.
"I want to go back to Skyloft," replied Link.
"Wait wha- why?" asked Zelda.
"Because I hate you, you tease me all the time and you're just a pain to deal with." said Link.
"I-I didn't mean to offend you." Zelda stammered. "I just wanted to have fun and be friendly. I thought you didn't mind that. I didn't know this had upsetted you."
"Well, it did. And that was not fun nor was it friendly. I never liked being pushed off a cliff and I never liked it when you got angry at me for little reasons like over me saying that your costume looked nice. You should've been proud." grumbled Link.
"You just saved me," said Zelda, her voice breaking. "We have been apart throughout this whole journey. And now you want to leave me here all alone? With no friends?"
"No, Zelda, until you learn to control your temper and to stop teasing people all the time, maybe you will have more friends." said Link.
And with that, Link was about to put his two fingers to his mouth before Zelda stopped him.
"Don't do it, please!" shouted Zelda.
Link flung his arm away from her and ran toward the edge of the statue, yelling "Get off of me!" He quickly whistled for his loftbird to come as Zelda continued to beg him not to leave. He jumped onto the loftwing and flew down to a goddess statue. Zelda whistled for her loftwing but Link was already down at the Bird Statue, praying. He was swept up to the sky as she got on the loftwing.
"I thought we were friends." cried Zelda.
"Bye Zelda, I will never want to see you again." said Link.
Link flew up to the sky with his sailcloth. Up there, he whistled and his bird flew back to the island sky with him. Zelda was so heartbroken that she began to sob, tears streaming down her face as she watched her only love and childhood friend fly away.
"Why, Link, why?!" yelled Zelda, her sobbing voice echoing across the surface.
A/N: I really hate Zelink. I don't think they should be together, ever. I was so disappointed Link didn't go back to Skyloft and even if he stayed on the surface, there was unfortunately no implication that Link told Zelda he was going to break up with her or vice versa. Either one of those endings would've been better. Link needs to find another girl. Peatrice is somehow more tolerable than Zelda but she's still a teasing brat so I prefer Link to get with someone else like someone who would treat him the way Mipha, Malon and Saria treat him.
