Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters or the Song. If I did I would be somewhere very warm.

A/N This Fic is for my little sister who is convinced that I am in capable of writing a Spuffy story. So here is a short little song fic that I wrote about Buffy and Spike around season six.

"Buffy I Love you more than you will ever know" Spike said peering into her green eyes. "Spike this just isn't going to work" She said breaking away from him. She couldn't love a monster. It was repulsive just thinking about it. She pushed him away and took off into the night.

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night

Spike walked away trying to not cry he did the only thing that he could think of. He walked into the bar and ordered a round. After about three hours he couldn't see or think strait. He stumbled home knowing what he had to do. The pain that he was feeling was not necessary for him. He was Spike and he had an answerHe put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

The news hit her like a ton of bricks. How could he do something so stupid? She knew that this was her fault. Deep inside she knew she did love him but it was too complicated for them to be together. As she stood over his grave she couldn't control the tears that were streaming down her face.

The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night

Buffy struggled through the next couple of months. She would go out and get so plastered that she wouldn't be able to go home. She refused to sleep because he was always right there in her dreams. She knew that drinking her fears away would never solve the problems but with out him there was no point. Life was far too unbearable.

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow
Clinging to his picture for dear life
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby

(Sing lullaby)

Her friends and family stood around her grave. No one could quite understand why she had done it. The shock of loosing someone who always seemed so strong had bewildered the people she loved. Slowly one by one they all filed out of the graveyard. As Willow walked out of the cemetery she could feel the presence of two strong forces. She smiled as she realized that at last Buffy was at peace with the only man she truly loved
