AN: Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted much in a while... This one shot took me over a week so I hope you enjoy and don't forget to review!
DISCLAIMER: The characters and story aren't mine, even though I wish they were lol
Thanks;)
"Becs c'mon! It's the last initiation night we can go to before we graduate!" Chloe pleaded. Chloe was laying on Beca's bed staring up at the ceiling while Beca was playing some of her newest mixes for the redhead.
"Chlo I don't know if I'll done work by then, you know my boss can be a dick and make us stay late on weekends." Beca replied, keeping her eyes trained on the screen and choosing the next track to play.
"You can just show up a little bit after it starts. The party doesn't start until 8, so even if you get off work late you can still show up within the hour." Chloe reasoned.
"Yeah I guess, but I really don't want to have to deal with Jesse's awkwardness the entire night." Beca said. "It's not like he's not going to be there because the party's being held at his house and it's impossible to avoid him all night."
"I thought you guys agreed that you would still be friends." Said Chloe as she sat up to meet Beca's eyes.
"We did, but ever since I broke up with him he tries to act like he's over it but he's a shitty lier. I can tell that he still has feelings for me." Beca explained, tearing her eyes away from her mixing board to gaze back into Chloe's bright blue eyes. "It's like he can't understand that I just don't love him anymore."
"Becs, you don't need to justify your reasoning for breaking up with him, I get it and I will always support your decisions."
"I know Chlo, that's why you're one of the few people I can actually tolerate." Beca smirked. Chloe picked up on what Beca was really trying to say.
"Aw, you love me!" Chloe's smile grew as she stretched out the last word, making Beca's cheeks turn pink.
"I do not." Beca muttered, looking at the floor of her room.
"Oh you do indeed, the look on your face says so." Chloe smiled even wider. "Look Becs, even with Jesse there I can promise you that we will have a good time tonight if you come. I'm sure of it." Chloe winked.
"Okay, I guess I can stop by when I get off of work, even if I show up a little late." Beca agreed.
"Yay!" Chloe exclaimed. "And don't worry, you can stay by my side all night like you always do and hide behind me whenever Jesse is looking for you." Chloe teased.
"Gee, thanks." Beca rolled her eyes.
"Okay, I have to get to class... Text me when you're on your way to the party okay?" Chloe got up from the brunette's bed and lent down to plant a quick kiss to the brunette's forehead before grabbing her bag. "I can't wait for tonight!" She yelled as she ran out the door of Beca's room.
Beca didn't have any classes today, so she took her time getting ready for her internship. As she did her makeup, she thought about the real reason she broke up with her now-ex-boyfriend; she has secretly been in love with her best friend since their freshman year. Beca thought that Jesse would be the safer choice after kissing him at the ICCAs, and she even believed that at one point she had actually loved him. But over the past years she had always found herself wanting to spend time with the redhead instead of her boyfriend. If Jesse had planned a dinner date for the two of them and Beca didn't feel like seeing him, she would tell him she wasn't feeling well and Beca would spend her night cuddling with Chloe in her bed watching musicals on Chloe's laptop (which Beca says she hates but only Chloe is the only one who knows how much she loves to sing along to them).
It was only a few weeks ago when Beca decided to fully accept the fact that she was in love with Chloe. She broke up with Jesse, using the 'it's not you, it's me' excuse and telling him that she needed to focus on herself for a while and figure some stuff out (which was only partially true). Jesse didn't totally understand what she meant, but he didn't want to be the asshole who demands a full explanation behind their breakup. He decided to just let Beca go instead, because that's what you do when you love someone. He will get over Beca eventually, but for now all he's been doing is trying to act like her friend and not her boyfriend.
When Beca got to Residual Heat, her boss sent her to go pick up lunch for everyone. When she got back, everyone took their lunch break to eat, so that gave her time to shoot Chloe a quick text:
Beca: I cannot believe you are forcing me to go to this party tonight Chlo
30 seconds later she got a response:
Chloe: First of all, it's not forcing if you agreed to come after I promised we would have fun. Second of all, I know you'll have a great time
Beca smiled as she typed out her response.
Beca: And what makes you think that Beale?
Chloe: Because you get to spend time with your favorite person in the world and drink booze that you won't have to pay for ;)
Beca: Ah, I see your plan now...
Chloe: What plan?
Beca: You want to get me drunk don't you Chlo.
Chloe: Damn, ya got me there Mitchell
Beca: Haha I knew it… Sorry, my lunch break just ended. I'll call you as soon as I get off work okay? Hopefully I'll be done by 7 unless my boss decides to piss us all off.
Chloe: Sounds good babe 3 see you later ;)
Beca's heart skipped a beat at the pet name Chloe called her. Only Chloe would be able make her feel this way from one text. She looked over the conversation one more time before turning off her phone and going to meet her boss in the studio, praying that he doesn't end up making her stay late.
As Chloe finished her last class at 5, she walked back to the Bella house to get ready for initiation night. She took a shower and started to pick out what to wear, but she needed help.
"Stacie! Could you come up here!" Chloe hollered down to the lower levels of the house.
"Sure thing Cap!" The tall brunette yelled back. When Stacie reached Chloe's room, she found Chloe pacing back and forth in front of her closet with nothing but a matching set of black underwear.
"Chloe? We have to leave in less than an hour, what are you doing?" Stacie questioned. Chloe stopped pacing and turned to the tall brunette.
"I don't know what to wear tonight and I need help picking something out." Chloe had gone to Stacie for advice on clothes because Aubrey was no longer in college and Beca was out of the house.
"Do you have someone to impress tonight?" Stacie smirked and Chloe just blushed and looked at the floor. "OM-ACA-G you do! I didn't think you were actually trying someone's attention… Who is it?"
"No one." Chloe uttered, looking down at her feet.
"Oh it's someone alright." Stacie smiled. All of the Bellas have known about Beca and Chloe's crushes on each other since their freshman year. They've had a betting pool going on when they would get together, but no one thought it would last nearly this long. "Chlo, I know about your feelings for Beca."
"You do!?" She shouted, her voice an octave higher than normal.
"Of course! You guys have practically been dating since freshman year. With the way you drape yourself over her whenever we all hang out in the living room and how you always order for her when we go out to eat. Or how she never forgets your coffee order and she would always ditch Jesse for you before she broke up with him." Stacie explained.
"Wait, are you saying she likes me too?" Chloe asked.
"Duh! Chloe c'mon, I thought you were smarter than this." Stacie turned her attention to the redhead's closet. "Okay, let's make you look good. And now since you know that Beca likes you back, you can finally make the first move tonight because she definitely doesn't have the balls." Chloe smiled at that.
"Do you really think I should tell her?" Chloe questioned, seeing advice from the long legged senior.
"Totes! You guys would be great together! We all know it." Stacie winked.
"All of the Bellas know too?!" Chloe yelled in disbelief.
"Of course we do! It's that obvious!"
"Oh god." Chloe sighed.
"Okay come on, lets make you look hot. Even though Beca's eyes practically pop out of her head whenever you walk into a room. She literally drools over you no matter what you're wearing" Stacie said, rummaging through Chloe's closet. They both started to go through Chloe's clothes. Once they were satisfied with the sixth outfit they picked out, Chloe did her hair and makeup. Just as she was about to finish her winged eyeliner, her phone chimed on her dresser. She picked it up and a small frown appeared on her usually cheery face. Stacie, who was doing her makeup in Chloe's room as well, noticed the redheads change in mood right away.
"What's wrong Red?" Chloe quickly replied to the text and passed it to Stacie, who read the conversation.
Beca: My fucking jerk of a boss is making us stay until 8 because some idiot intern spilled coffee all over the mixing board, so now we have to stay late and clean it up… I'm so sorry Chlo, I promise I'll be there around 8:45
Chloe: Don't worry about it Becs, just text me when you're on your way… I'll see you there, xoxo
"Damn, that blows." Stacie said once she read the conversation. "At least she's still able to come though right?"
"Yeah, true." Chloe muttered.
"C'mon Cap, let's finish getting ready so we can leave with the rest of the Bellas." Stacie encouraged, continuing to finish her makeup quickly.
"Okay."
To say Beca was mad about staying late was an understatement. She was pissed at the dumbass who was stupid enough to spill his latte all over the studio and pissed at her boss for making her stay late and help clean up the huge mess. She also felt bad that she has to show up late for initiation night. Chloe is really looking forward to it and she knew she was letting her down by showing up later than everyone else. It took a total of 45 minutes to get all of the coffee out of the mixing board. As soon as her boss let them go for the night, Beca ran out the door to her car. As she put the key into the ignition to start up her shitty 2010 Toyota, her phone buzzed in her pocket. Beca pulled out her phone to read the text.
Chloe: We added a Legacy!
Beca: Wtf is a legacy? And added it to what?!
Chloe: I'll explain when you get here;) Are you on your way?
Beca: About to leave. I have to stop at the house real quick because I have coffee all over my clothes. I should be there by 8:45 the latest
Chloe: Can't wait 3
Beca smiled and turned off her phone, throwing in onto the passenger's seat and pressing her foot on the gas pedal. She drove to the Bella's house and quickly changed into different clothes; her favorite pair of skinny jeans and a maroon t-shirt. Before leaving the house, she had an idea to surprise Chloe. Beca quickly put it together and made sure everything was in perfect before hustling down the stairs. She ran out the door and walked to the treble house. She made her way up the driveway and maneuvered past people in the house to get to the patio. Beca caught Chloe's eyes from across the yard and looked her up and down. Chloe was wearing navy skinny jeans with a blue button down shirt. Beca thought she looked gorgeous, with her red hair falling around her face in natural curls and her eyes shining a bright blue. Chloe saw Beca walk in and ran to her, wrapping her arms around Beca's neck, pulling her into a long hug. Beca didn't pull away, instead she wrapped her own arms around Chloe's waist and laughed.
"Someone's happy to see me." she said, making Chloe giggle into her ear.
"Of course I am! You're finally here!" Chloe finally pulled away. "I missed you!"
"Chlo, we saw each other like twelve hours ago." Beca reasoned.
"I know, but it felt a lot longer. How was work?"
"It could have been better. I had to spend all day in a recording studio with my boss yelling at us because we can't come up with ideas for how to make Snoop Dogg's album 'original' or some shit. And then that moronic kid spilled his latte everywhere, including all over the studio and my shirt." Beca explained.
"Well it sounds like you need a drink. Go say hi to everyone while I get you one." Chloe said before beginning to walk to the drink table before Beca grabbed her hand, pulling her back.
"Wait, you need to explain what the hell a 'legacy' is to me."
"Oh right! This freshman showed up at our doorstep when we were about to leave and told us she was a legacy and wanted to audition. A legacy is basically a relative of a former Bella, so she's technically born into the group. She has a really good voice and we technically aren't breaking any of the suspension rules because we didn't formally hold auditions."
"So there's a new member?"
"Yeah!" Chloe smiled.
"Is she cool?" Beca asked.
"She's super sweet, she's more like a child than a college student." Chloe described.
"Oh god." Beca groaned.
"Don't worry, it will be fine. I'm sure you will like her once you get to know her. She's here so you'll meet her eventually." Chloe insisted. "She said she was totally looking forward to meeting 'the woman who single handedly created the Bellas sound' apparently." Chloe giggled as Beca rolled her eyes.
"Okay, now I'm definitely going to need that drink you mentioned earlier."
"I'll be right back." Chloe winked. Beca walked over to Stacie and Amy, waiting for Chloe to come back.
"Hey Cap!" Amy shouted, clearly already a little drunk.
"Hi Amy."
"What's up Beca!" Stacie said, less drunk than Amy.
"Just waiting on Chlo to come back with the drink I was promised." Beca said. Stacie looked at Fat Amy and smirked.
"What?" Beca questioned.
"Oh nothing." Stacie replied, smiling now.
"Okay then." Beca said with a confused look, narrowing her eyes at Stacie and Fat Amy. Chloe walked over to the three of them and handed Beca a red solo cup as she took a sip from her signature yellow one that she brings everywhere.
"Bottoms up Becs!" She laughed as Beca downed her drink.
"I'm going to go grab a refill real quick. Be right back." Beca walked towards the drink table.
"So?" Stacie asked. "When are you going to do it?"
"I have no clue." Chloe replied.
"Well just know that Beca totally feels the same way, so you have nothing to worry about."
"Thanks Stacie."
"No problem Chloe, just don't wait too long because soon enough she'll be drunk and won't remember anything. Just like Amy over here." Stacie said, pointing to the blonde on her right,
"For the last time, I'M NOT DRUNK!" Fat Amy shouted right in Stacie's ear, making Stacie and Chloe jump and attempt cover their ears. Chloe's eyes wandered to the drink table where Beca was refilling her cup. She looked amazing, she didn't even have to try to look beautiful. Chloe headed to the other side of the patio to dance with Jessica and Ashley.
As Beca looked around the party, sipping her drink, a tall girl who looked way too young to be in college appeared next to her.
"Hi!" She exclaimed.
"Hi?" Beca said, confused.
"I can't believe I'm talking to the woman who single-handedly created the Bellas sound! We're sisters! I can't believe we're sisters!" She squealed.
"Yeah, Chloe texted me and said we added a legacy, I didn't even know that was a thing." Beca shrugged.
"I'm Emily by the way." The girl introduced. "And just let me say that you and Chloe are such a cute couple! The Bellas told me all about how you guys have had feelings for each other since the beginning of freshman year!"
"What? Who told you that?" Beca interrogated.
"Stacie and Amy. They said that you guys have loved each other for years, and with the way Chloe was talking about you on the way here I thought…"
"Come with me." Beca interrupted, starting to head toward where Stacie and Amy stood, Emily trailing behind.
"Did you guys tell the legacy that Chloe and I are in love with each other?"
"Well our exact words were, 'they have been having eye sex for 3 years now,' but that works too. And in our defence, Emily jumped to the conclusion that you were dating after Chloe wouldn't shut the hell up on the way here." Fat Amy said in a drunken slur. Stacie clapped her hand over the blonde's mouth before she could give away anything else.
"What makes you think that Chloe likes me? Or that I like her for that matter?"
"Oh you've got to be kidding Beca. We all see the way you look at her. She looks at you the same way. I mean c'mon, she is the only one you let invade your personal space." Stacie remarked. "We all know about your feelings towards her."
"All of the Bellas know?" Beca almost shrieked.
"So it is true! But yeah, we all figured it out by the time Aubrey graduated."
"Oh lord." Beca rolled her eyes.
"Who's Aubrey?" Emily chimed in.
"You've got a lot to learn kiddo." Amy said, almost falling over in the process.
"Hey, at least you know that she feels the same way about you." Stacie said, ignoring the other two and focusing on her conversation with Beca.
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Now it's time to make your move!" Stacie encouraged.
"That's a funny joke, Stacie." Beca said. "I'm going to go dance, do you guys know where Chloe went?"
"She went to go dance too, but be careful, I think Jesse's over there dancing with Benji!" Stacie called after the brunette.
"Thanks for the heads up Stacie!" Beca hollered over her shoulder.
"I'm confused, so Chloe and Beca aren't together?" Emily asked.
"Not yet, but I'm sure they will be after tonight." Stacie smirked.
"Yay! One more question though, why is she worried about where Jesse is?"
"She dated Jesse for most of the time we've been at Barden to help her get over Chloe, thinking she would never have a chance with Red. But she broke up with him a few weeks ago after finally accepting that she couldn't get over Chloe, even though Jesse still loves her. He tries to act normal but Beca hates it and gets super uncomfortable whenever he tries to have a conversation with her." Stacie explained."
"I see." Emily said, nodding her head and watching the short brunette make her way over the the redhead on the patio to dance.
"Beca!" Chloe yelled, waving to the Beca. Beca waved back as she moved through the crowd to get to her best friend.
"Let's dance!" Chloe shouted over the crowd as she swayed her hips with the music. Beca started to move to the beat but soon enough the song changed for an upbeat party tune to something slower and more sensual. Beca was about to make her way back to the drinks table, using the song change as an excuse for a break but Chloe quickly grabbed Beca's hands and put them onto her own hips.
"You aren't getting away from the that easily Mitchell." She smiled.
"Are you seriously making me dance to this song with you Chlo?" Beca asked as the first chords of the song blasted through the speakers all around the backyard.
"Definitely, I love this song! It's one of my jams, if you know what I mean." Chloe smirked, wiggling her eyebrows.
"You're so weird." Beca remarked, keeping her hands on Chloe's hips as they began to rock back and forth to the rhythm. Chloe wrapped her arms around Beca's neck and they started to dance as the Weeknd's voice started the first verse.
You make it look like it's magic
Cause I see nobody, nobody but you you you
The captains were starting to get into the music, rocking their hips to meet the rhythm of the song. Chloe thought this was the perfect time to finally tell Beca how she felt.
"Hey, can I tell you something?" Chloe said into Beca's ear so she could hear her over the crowd.
"You can tell me anything Chlo." That simple phrase made Chloe smile. She knew there that Beca did really like her back, she was the only one who completely understood Chloe. Even Aubrey didn't get some of the things Beca did.
Cause girl you're perfect
You're always worth it
And you deserve it
Right before Chloe had the chance to poor out her feelings, Jesse found Beca and drunkenly waltzed over to them.
"Becaw! Chloe!" He shouted. "What's good?"
"Hi Jesse." Beca said awkwardly, removing her hands from the redheads waist.
"We are just about to start playing a group game of truth or dare! You should come join!" Jesse exclaimed, pointing behind him to a group consisting of the Bellas and the trebles, which left the other groups still dancing.
"Truth or dare? What are we, 12 years old?" Beca asked. Chloe, a little mad at Jesse for ruining the moment, quickly cut into the conversation before it got to awkward between the two ex-lovers.
"Of course we would! C'mon Becs!" She said, grabbing Beca's hand and pulling her over to the group of singers, Jesse following close behind them.
"Yo captains! You two ready to play?" Stacie shouted as Chloe and Beca sat down. Stacie noticed that Beca had not let go of Chloe's hand since they sat down in the circle and gave Chloe a 'did you do it?' look. Chloe saw it and shook her head no.
"As ready as I'll ever be." Beca muttered, oblivious to Stacie and Chloe's silent conversation.
"Okay! Who's up first?" Stacie asked as Beca glanced at everyone in the group that consisted of all the Bellas including the new legacy, who looked extremely nervous, and half of the trebles, the others thought it would be boring and went back to dancing.
"I'll ask first!" Chloe insisted. "Stacie, truth or dare?"
"Truth." Stacie said.
"Okay…" Chloe paused to think about what to say. "How many guys have you slept with at this party?" Everyone laughed at the question, but Stacie took it seriously. She surveyed the backyard, counting on her fingers.
"Six." Stacie answered, followed by wolf-whistles from the trebles. "Okay my turn, Benji! Truth or dare?" Stacie shouted. Everyone turned to Benji, who looked almost as nervous as Emily.
"Truth." Benji said shyly.
"Who do you think is the prettiest girl in this circle?" Stacie asked. Benji didn't even have to look around at the girls before he answered.
"Emily." He replied, making both him and Emily blush.
The game continued for a few more turns, with Jesse jumping into the pool, Flo answering if she was in the country illegally (the answer was yes), and Stacie having to take off her shirt.
"Ok, who's the next victim." Stacie said after discarding her shirt on the ground. "Beca! You haven't been asked yet so, truth or dare?"
"Dare." Beca smirked. Stacie carefully thought about what to have the short brunette do. Immediately, she had an idea.
"I dare you to kiss whoever you thinks is the hottest person in the circle." Stacie proclaimed, winking at Chloe, who just blushed. Beca thought to herself for a moment, should she finally make her move on Chloe? She couldn't think of a better time to do it, and she definitely didn't want to kiss anyone else. With a sudden boost of confidence, Beca turned to Chloe and stared into her sparkling eyes.
Hey." Beca whispered, smiling at Chloe as she cupped Chloe's cheek and leaned in to meet the redhead's lips. Chloe wrapped her hands around Beca's neck and she started to kiss the burnette back. The kiss seemed to ignite a passion in the both of them, most likely because of all the emotions they've tried to keep hidden for so long. The kiss quickly heated up, with Chloe swiping her tongue across Beca's lower lip as if to ask for entrance, which Beca immediately granted. Beca pulled away after she ran out of air and rested her forehead against Chloe's. They were locked in their own world as they gazed into each other's eyes.
"Hi." Chloe laughed. Neither of them could keep a smile off their faces. Only then did they acknowledge the others in the group, with the trebles all wolf-whistling; minus Jesse who looked extremely jealous, and the Bellas all clapping and cheering.
"BHLOE IS FINALLY ON!" Fat Amy yelled as she started to run around the group.
"Alright, all of you aca-bitches owe me twenty bucks!" Stacie hollered. All of the Bellas groaned as they started to hand over the cash.
"Did you give me that dare just so you could get paid?" Beca asked.
"Oh c'mon Beca, you've had raging toners for each other for a while now." Stacie shrugged, using the term that Aubrey has been using since their freshman year. "Someone had to take matters into their own hands before it got too bad." All of the Bellas and a few trebles nodded their heads, agreeing with Stacie.
"I never thought I was that obvious." Chloe said, more to herself than the rest of the group.
"Wait! You have feelings for me?" Beca blurted.
"Only for the last three years Becs." Chloe remarked. Everyone swooned at the statement, except for Jesse of course, who looked like he was about to throw up. "Why don't we go somewhere more private to have this conversation, even though I'm sure everyone would love to continue watching us." Chloe stood up to leave the circle, holding out her hand for Beca to grab. Beca grabbed it and got up too.
"Some don't."Jesse muttered under his breath.
"Jesse, you need to get the fuck over me already!" Beca exclaimed. "I understand that the break up was a little unexpected for you but I don't love you anymore, and to be honest I don't think I have in a while! I've been in love with Chloe for the past three years and I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that I will never be able to stop loving her." At that statement, everyone in the circle gasped, including Chloe.
"You're in love with me?" Chloe whispered.
"I always have been." Beca said, her face lighting up. Chloe smiled as wide as she could to match Beca's expression and pulled the brunette towards her by the hand she was still grasping onto. Their lips met for the second time that night, but this time out of love and admiration, not a dare. They both smiled as they kissed, Chloe's lips tasting salty from the tears that fell out of her eyes from being so happy. Beca pulled away from the kiss.
"I kinda have to hear those words back Chlo."
"I love you, Beca Mitchell."
"I love you too, Chloe Beale." Everyone cheered as they kissed again.
"So much for that private conversation huh?" Beca laughed as she pulled Chloe to sit back down with the group (minus Jesse because he couldn't stand to watch anymore).
"Oh my stars! I'm so happy for you guys!" Emily exclaimed. All of the people in the circle joined in on congratulating the new couple.
"Thanks guys." Beca said.
"So Becs, do you wanna grab dinner tomorrow night around 8?" Chloe asked, slinging her arm around Beca's shoulders.
"After everything that just happened, I think it's pretty obvious that my answer is yes." She smirked.
"Sounds like a plan then, Mitchell."
"So I guess that concludes our game of Truth or Dare!" Stacie got up and said. "Now let's all give the lovebirds a moment together." Everyone began follow Stacie to give Beca and Chloe time alone.
"We could have used that moment 5 minutes ago but thanks anyways!" Beca hollered after them.
"So, was it really 3 years?" Chloe asked after pressing a short kiss to the brunette's temple.
"Honestly Chlo, I think I fell in love with you as soon as I met you at the Activities Fair. I just never wanted to believe it myself, and when I finally accepted it a few weeks ago, I never thought you felt the same way this whole time." Beca replied.
"Well if it makes you feel any better, this could have happened a while ago. I knew you were going to be someone special at the Activities Fair and I think I made that pretty obvious, but I didn't realize I was in love with you until after our little shower duet." Chloe winked.
"Beale! You are such a dirty little bird!" Beca playfully hit Chloe in the arm.
"Ew! Not for that reason!" Chloe clarified. "It was the first time I heard your voice, and the first time we sang together."
"That's sweet Chlo, but I know you were still enjoying the free show."
"Oh, how could I not." Chloe smirked. "And for the record, you took a peek too."
"Duh, literally everything was on display!" Beca explained. "It's not my fault you were so, how did you put it? I think your exact words were, confident about all that?" Beca said, gesturing to Chloe's body.
"I did say that, and I still am." Chloe said, making the short captain laugh.
"You should be." Beca smirked, realizing that was her reply to Chloe three years ago in the showers. Chloe pulled Beca in for another kiss. When they both pulled back, Beca sighed in content.
"God, I will never get tired of that." Beca smiled.
"Neither will I," Cloe returned the sentiment. "And I don't think I'll ever want to stop."
"I guess you're stuck with me then, Red." Beca said. As they sat there in comfortable silence, Beca remembered the surprise she put together for Chloe before she left the house earlier that night. She got up, pulling Chloe up with her.
"Where are we going?" Chloe asked.
"Well this party got a little boring, and since we don't have anything else to do tonight I thought we could move that date up to tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow. We've already waited 3 years and I think that was long enough." Beca said, ending her sentence by kissing Chloe on the nose.
"Aw, aren't you romantic." Chloe swooned, taking Beca's hand in her own as they began to walk out of the party. "So where are we going?"
"It's a surprise." Beca answered. From the other side of the yard, Stacie noticed the two leave the party.
"There they go." She said to Emily.
"They are so cute! Now they're captains, sisters and girlfriends!"
"Gross." Stacie cringed. The two Bellas watched their captains leave hand in hand.
Beca guided them back to the Bella house and unlocked the door, leading them inside.
Chloe had a confused look on her face when Beca started to walk them up the stairs. "What's going on Becs?"
"Oh just wait, Beale. This is gonna blow your mind." Beca remarked as they got halfway up the stairs.
"Beca Mitchell if you think that nothing but sex is a good idea for a first date…"
"Oh my God of course not! Jeez Chloe I'm trying to be all romantic and shit here and you're ruining it." Beca interrupted, stopping as they approached her bedroom door. "Okay, if you think this is too cheesy or lame we don't have to stay here. Like we can go to dinner or something instead, it all depends on what you want to do..."
"Beca you can quit your rambling, whatever is behind your door I'm sure I will love it." Chloe assured.
"I wasn't rambling." Beca muttered as she opened the door to her room. Chloe gasped at the sight in front of her. Beca's room had been transformed into a gigantic fort, covering up almost the whole space. The floor of the fort was littered with blankets and pillows and the ceiling and walls were made up of various sheets and blankets attached to the beds and desks. Near the entrance, Beca had placed her and Chloe's favorite snacks and drinks with her laptop, equipped for watching anything they were in the mood for. Inside the fort, string lights were put up around the walls and a speaker was in the far corner, playing some of Chloe's favorite mixes Beca made her over the past few years.
"Becs this is amazing!" Chloe shouted, tackling Beca with a huge hug and kissing every feature on her face multiple times, ending with a short but sweet kiss to her lips. "When did you have time to make this?"
"I had the idea when I was changing before the party. I wanted to surprise you and I figured that some sort of cheesy shit like this would be right up your alley. Do you like it?" Beca asked.
"Babe, I love it!" Chloe exclaimed, proceeding to climb through the entrance of the fort. Beca followed behind her.
"I have a bunch of stuff loaded onto my laptop because I didn't know what you would be in the mood to watch. And I got anything from gummy bears to flamin' hot cheetos because I also didn't know how hungry we would both be after the party…"
"Becs," Chloe interrupted, putting a finger to Beca's lips to silence her. "This is perfect, thank you so much for this."
"Anything for you Chloe." Beca said, kissing Chloe gently. "So what are you in the mood for?"
"Do you have any Reeses?"
"Of course I do, I know they're your favorite." Beca announced, pulling the bag out from the pile of snacks and handing them to Chloe, receiving a thank you and a kiss on the cheek in return. "What do you want to watch?" She asked while opening up her laptop.
"The Office?" Chloe suggested, making Beca laugh. Out of all shows she thought would be Chloe's favorite, Beca's last guess would be The Office, but to her dismay, Chloe loved the characters and all of the crude jokes made throughout the show's nine seasons.
"Definitely, I still can't believe your a fan of this show." Beca opened Netflix and clicked on the show, pressing play.
"This show is the best!" Chloe replied. "I mean with the hilarious jokes and characters… Not to mention Jim and Pam are the cutest couple in the world!"
"I know, this show is the best." Beca agreed. "But Jim and Pam have nothing on us."
"Agreed." Chloe giggled. They both settled into the fort, covering themselves with blankets and sinking into the pillows. Beca positioned her laptop on top of a pillow in front of them so they could watch the show comfortably. Chloe nestled her head in the space where Beca's neck met her shoulder and sighed contently. Beca wrapped her shoulder around her and kissed the top of her head.
"I couldn't think of a better person to be in love with." Beca said.
"Me neither." Chloe turned her head to kiss Beca sweetly. While sitting there in the fort, Beca thought that the three years of waiting was completely worth it. There was no other place she would rather be.
