Why me? What have I done to deserve this? She was starting to get cold. But she didn't care, not anymore. She was tired. Tired of hurting, tired of hiding it from everyone, especially him. The had trusted her when she told them about her past. They listened and they believed her every word. Every word of her lie. She was taught never to show her real emotions, for emotions were a sign of weakness. And she was a warrior, a strong one at that. Her heart throbbed in pain, pain of holding onto her secret. She needed to tell them, she owed that to them. She had never truly felt loved, not until she met her friends. She didn't know if she could hold it in anymore. She was no hero, not in her eyes.
Sitting on the roof of titans tower was normally something Starfire enjoyed. But it was hard to enjoy it now. She felt the cold rain fall around her. How long had she been out here? She asked herself. The others must be wondering what I am doing. She slowly got up and forced herself to walk inside. She couldn't fly, for she felt no joy. She closed the door behind her with a loud thud and rung out her wet hair, it making noise as the water dripped onto the cold concrete. She stood still for a moment, wondering what she would tell her friends. They would probably ask her what was wrong. She would answer them as she always did, with a fake smile. That fake smile would be enough to answer their worried stares. As she pondered this she felt a gloved hand on her shoulder which caused her to jump. She turned around and saw him. He had a worried look on his face.
"Star, are you okay?" He asked still keeping his hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, Robin I am fine." She asked trying to sound as happy as she could.
" Well you've been up here for a while, I.. well the others and I were starting to get worried."
" I am sorry if I worried you…the others, I merely just wanted to think. I will join you for dinner in a moment" She said staring at the ground like a frightened child.
" Star, its 2:30 in the morning. Everyone's asleep. Are you sure your alright?" he asked, concern showing on his face.
" Yes I am fine" She snapped back immediately regretting it.
" Okay well then let me walk you back to your room" he grabbed her by the waist and walked her towards her room. When there she gave him a small smile and thanked him.
"Thank you Robin. I am lucky to have such great friends."
" No Star, we're lucky to have you" he said as he turned to walk back down the hall to his room.
She watched until he disappeared in the darkness and walked inside her own room, closing the door behind her. I am lucky to have such wonderful friends. That is why I must tell them. Tomorrow she would tell them everything.
