SUMMARY

This fanfiction takes place at the end of the last episode of greys (4.11). Derek and Rose have had their first date, and Meredith is trying to deal with her life without Derek.

Meredith Grey was woken up by her alarm clock, today was not going to be a good day she knew this before she even opened her eyes. She had barely slept the night before she could not get the image of Derek kissing Rose out of her head. She had no idea what she looked like and to be honest she really did not want to know. How could he do it, betray her like this, ok so he was seeing other people and they were just doing the whole sex and mockery thing but even so. How could he kiss someone else when he told her she was the love of her life.

With this thought she jumped out of bed and lept into the shower. "Things have got to change Meredith, Derek can move on with his slutty nurse and I can move on too, I am going to get on with my life and not obsess with Derek 'Mcdreamy' Shepherd anymore" Meredith said to herself as the hot water hit her skin.

As she left her room dressed in Jeans and a shirt the smell of breakfast hit her. Living with Izzie definatly had its perks and the cooking was one of them. She entered the kitchen to find izzie flipping pancakes and Alex eating a plate of ready made pancakes with syrup. She smilled at her friends as she moved to the seat next to Alex. "Morning" She said brightly to her friends they both looked up as they said Morning back both looking shocked having spent most of the night before with her at Joe's while she ranted about Mcdreamy through the Tequilla shots and tears. "What, I can't be happy I am bright and shiny and its a new day" Alex smirked "It wont last Mer, your too dark and twisty to be bright and shiny" They all laughed at this. Izzie pipped up "But, don't worry Mer we love you dark and twisted its part of your charm" Meredith smilled at this. They all finshed there breakfast, and headed to the door to leave for work.

Outside, SGH Meredith feared what today would bring was he already dating Rose. I so don't care she told herself. The trio walked into the lobby and pressed the button for the lift. As the doors opened Derek was there with his arms around a nurses waist.

So this is Rose, thought Meredith.

Derek at least had the decency to look guilty as she spotted Meredith and her friends. Meredith looked up at him and Rose and smilled "Morning Derek" he looked at her with sad eyes and said "Morning Meredith". The silence and awkwardness is the lift lasted what felt like a lifetime the doors opened and Meredith was the first to walk out.

That was ok, least we both spoke to each other. Ok I can do this...she thought as she started her day.
