The sniper lay perfectly still on the tall, grassy hill. His ghille suit blending perfectly wave the green foliage surrounding him.
"movement, twelve O' clock, fifth floor" he heard his spotter whisper to the left of him.
"affirmative, I see 'em." He whispered back while peering through the scope mounted on his suppressed M21 at the large blueish-gray building in front of them. He watched as the enemy sniper paced back and fourth between windows and quickly calculated the bullet's flight time in his head, then matched it with the wind speed and direction to get an estimate of the bullet's flight path. He lined up the shot with the enemy sniper's head and pulled the trigger. With a muffled click the bullet shot out of the muzzle and hit right on target, causing the enemy sniper to fall to the floor in a crumpled heap.
"Vortex, this is Mustang, do you read me?" the sniper whispered into his radio and looked towards the patch of trees by the side of the building right next to the steel outdoor stairs that 'blue' team was taking cover in.
"Affirmative Mustang, this is Vortex reading you loud and clear, whats your status? Over" the blue team leader replied over the radio. "Uh, fifth floor appears to be clear, no movement on the stair well either, over." The sniper replied and watched as the team of marines moved out of the trees and started heading up the stairs. A few minutes later he heard his radio crackle and the red team leaders familiar voice came on over the radio. "Mustang, this is X-Ray, we got a enemy outpost up ahead and are requesting sniper support on our position, over"
"copy that X-Ray, Charlie team is on the way, over."
The sniper got to his feet and picked up his M21 and tapped his spotter on the shoulder, then motioned with his head to get up. The spotter got up and the sniper team began moving through the trees towards the other side of the hill. About half way there the sniper heard a buzzing noice off in the distance and looked around. "you hear that?" he asked his spotter as the noise got louder. before his spotter could answer he heard gun fire up ahead. "Shit! Get down!" he yelled as the trees around them exploded from the large S.A.W. rounds punching into them. He aimed his sniper rifle in the direction that the bullets were coming from and fired a few blind shots towards the shooter.
"move forward" he whispered after the shooting stopped and began crawling in prone towards their destination while at the same time slipping his Desert Eagle out of it's holster and swinging the M21 onto his back by the strap. "X-Ray this is Mustang, come in, over" the sniper whispered into his radio. after a few minutes of silence he decided to try again "X-Ray, this is mustang, do you copy? Over." He sighed as the radio returned only silence and decided to try and reach blue team "Uh, Vortex, this is Mustang, do you copy?"
"Affirmative Mustang, I read you, what do you need?"
"X-Ray isn't responding to radio contact and we encountered an enemy patrol while we were on our way to red teams position, please advise, over"
"Uh, copy that Mustang, building is clear, so just sit tight as we make our way to your position, over and out."
The sniper turned towards his spotter. "Blue team says to sit tight until they reach our position" he said and slowly sat up to make sure that the enemy patrolmen was dead, he was. "take up defensive positions until blue team gets here, you take the back and to the left, i'll take the front and to the right." The spotter nodded and scurried off, then the sniper got up and went off to look for a good position that he could cover them from.
