Say My Name

Chapter 1: Genesis

Has it always been like this?

"Genesis…" Blood…Blood… "Genesis…save me…" Blood…

"Brother…" Blood…it's…everywhere. "W-Why…brother?" I…I can't breath…Mother…Sister…

"M-My son…why won't you…save us?" Why are my hands…Why are they covered in blood?

"What are you waiting for, you little brat?" That voice. No…not father. Not now! "Why don't you save your mother?" I glance up to see him. That…that retched man.

"W-What about sister?" I asked, surprised I could say that.

"Why, she's already dead." What? Big sister can't be dead…She was so strong! She must be alive!

"My son…" I looked down to see my beautiful, blood soaked mother laying there, her hand out stretched for me. "Save me…" I can't…the…the blood.

"Worthless piece of shit. Die already!" He kicked her. He kicked her in this state? And he's smiling? What is he? He's not my father. He's a monster! "Ah, look at that. Genesis, you just killed your mother and your sister. You're a bad boy…" No…you're wrong! "You should be punished." You smell of beer…please no. "You killed them both."

"Genesis!" My eyes opened as quick as I rose up from my bed. I was soaked in sweat and my heart was throbbing. "Are you alright?" I glanced over to see my younger brother, Magnesium, sitting beside my bed. I nodded, taking in some oxygen. "You might wake up the old man. We don't want that, now do we?" I shook my head no. "You had that dream again, didn't you?" I nodded, tears starting to form. "Now, now. Don't cry, big brother. It wasn't your fault." He wrapped his arms around my neck, hugging me tightly. "And you really should speak more to me. I won't chew your head off if you do."

"I-I know…" I managed to make out. I couldn't help but get a good whiff of him. Beer and smoke. "Mags…have you been…" He released me and smiled at me.

"Guess I've been caught, huh?" He poked my forehead. "But don't worry, bro. I won't end up like pops. And I didn't have much anyway"

"I-I know, but…"

"But nothing." He interrupted. "Now…go back to sleep." He started to get up. I grabbed his sleeve, holding on tightly as more tears started to form.

"Don't leave me…" I murmured. He smiled.

"Gees…you're the older one…" He chuckled, crawling into bed with me, holding my hands. "I should be the one asking you not to leave, dipshit."

"My little brother should speak nicer…" I croaked through my tears. I was so happy to have a brother like Mags.

"Alright, alright. Just, sleep well for once. It's not everyday I do this!"

"You're right…it's every night." I closed my eyes and chuckled at my own cheesy joke. I quit when I didn't hear Magnesium laughing. I opened my eyes to see Mags with his face buried in his pillow.

"Oh man!" He had been laughing. "You're such a kid!" He laughed. I puffed out my cheeks, but ended up joining him. We laid there and laughed before finally dozing off. I drifted off into a deep sleep.
