Disclaimer: If I was J.K. Rowling I would have put this in the book.
Hermione and Ron sat in silence in the privacy of Ron's room at Grimmauld Place
Hermione and Ron sat in silence in the privacy of Ron's room at Grimmauld Place. Hermione was watching him intently trying to interpret what his thoughts were. He opened his mouth many times in failed attempts. They had only been there for a couple weeks before Hermione had decided to let Ron in on her secret. A weight was lifted off her while confusion was set upon Ron. Finally, he opened his mouth and found words falling out.
"I don't understand."
Hermione let a little smirk past her lips before becoming serious once again. "I didn't expect you to fully understand." She was choosing her words slowly and had the slight air of a teacher explaining something to a young child. "I'm truly sorry I didn't tell you sooner. But it was something I had to come to terms with before telling anyone, even you. I could always find answers to every question in books, but no matter how much I searched I couldn't find an answer to this. I realized that it was in me, I was the only one that knew the answer."
"You led me on." Hermione winced as she saw the pained expression in Ron's eyes.
"I didn't mean to." She moved so that she was sitting on the bed next to Ron and took his hand in her own. Ron looked away from her. "I wasn't sure. I thought it was just a phase or something like that. I never meant to hurt you." Hermione stroked Ron's bright red hair with her free hand. "I love you, please know that, and I always will. You're my best friend and I just hope that you will accept me."
Ron turned to face Hermione. "Of course I accept you." It was Hermione's turn to be flooded with confusion.
"So, what don't you understand?"
"Why her? Why my sister"
A smile spread across Hermione's face. "Because I'm in love with her."
