"I saw Amy earlier," Donna said as she slipped off her skirt and pantyhose.
"Uhhhh....."
"It was fine. I have years of practice interacting with Amy civilly. She congratulated me on my new job," she said as she quirked an eyebrow.
"She better not have insinuated that you just got your old one back!"
"It was fine. I know what my job is, even if she can't read my name and title all over CNN."
There is a long pause as they continue to get ready for bed.
"I didn't love Amy," Josh says softly out of nowhere.
"No." She shakes her head. "I understand. You loved the thought of Amy."
"Well... two big time political power brokers...."
"Is that the only reason you love the thought of this, between us, now?" she questions as she stops looking for her nightgown and looks at him in the mirror above the dresser.
"No. I've always loved you, and always will love you. And, I'm sorry that I never made it work until now."
He walks up behind her, wraps his arms around her, props his chin on her shoulder, giving her a lopsided grin.
She smiles and it lights up the mirror. "'Kay."
