Pairing: Seifer/Demyx (Demfer? Seimyx?)

Seifer gazed out at the perpetual sunset. He felt so alone. He knew it was his fault, but that didn't keep him from longing to fill the emptiness inside.

His hand clutched his chest as his eyes soaked in the reds and oranges that painted the sky.

He went over in his mind why exactly he was in this position.

He had pushed everyone away, longed to badly to be seen as someone not to be messed with. No one had ever understood him. He wished just once someone would take the time to see the real him, and not just the stone cold façade he put up. Not even Rai and Fuu understood him. The were too busy with each other.

His hand moved up to finger the scar running across the bridge of his nose. It seemed impossible for him to find someone who thought he was beautiful.

A voice began to fill his ears with soft music and turned to drive off whoever was interrupting his train of thoughts.

He stopped short as his eyes rested upon one of the most beautiful sights he had seen. On the opposite side of sunset hill a tall man sat on a bench playing some strange looking blue instrument, singing softly, and gazing into the sunset.

There was something hauntingly beautiful about the man's voice. It was filled with longing, and yet at the same time, seemed empty and hollow. Seifer stood in awe, unable to take his eyes off of the source of the enchanting music.

It flowed through the air and seemed to pass right through him, it made everything he had longed for come to the surface of his mind. He was caught in a daze, unable to move, not even when he noticed the tears flowing down his cheeks. Abruptly the music stopped and he immediately longed for it to begin again. Then, all at once everything crashed down on him and he turned around quickly wiped his eyes, he never cried in front of people.

"Look out!"

Seifer jumped as he heard a loud splashing sound behind him and turned to see a stream of water split a dark shadow in half. He stood there stunned and looked up to see the man who he could only assume was the one that saved him only to find that the stranger had disappeared.

Like a switch was turned back on, Seifer straightened his shoulders and placed his mask of indifference on. With his newly regained arrogance he walked away from sunset hill muttering beneath his breath.

"Outsiders don't belong here anyway."

But deep within his heart, the tune he had just heard kept repeating over and over. It was one thing he wasn't going to let go.

AN: So yeah, this is definately NOT on my to do list. I came across it as I was looking through my computer and decided to finish it. SEIFER/DEMYX!!! Another random pairing from my random mind. Sorry if Seifer is a little ooc here, but I blame Demyx for that.
