Cameron's P.O.V.

I noticed that new kid, Trent, was always talking to some girl I've never seen before. I couldn't help but watch him talk even though I couldn't hear there conversation. He usually looked like he was complaining or worried about something and she looked kind of concerned but not all that badly.

Cameron: "Who's that girl that always hangs out with Trent?"

Jane: "I don't know his girlfriend or something."

… I don't really like Trent (I mean, I've only talked to him a couple times) and he probably isn't even gay, but I couldn't help but feel kind of disappointed to think about him having a girlfriend.

Normal P.O.V. (With Trent & Jesi)

Trent: "Ugh!! Every freaking kid at this school has heard about what happened at our last school."

Jesi: "Well, Trent, maybe you shouldn't do stuff like that if you don't want this kind of attention."

Trent: "You know I would never do drugs. I just had it to piss off mom and dad."

Jesi: "What is with you always trying to make them mad?"

Trent: "They're just always so controlling and every time they tell me not to do something it just makes me so irritated by them, I do it anyway."

Jesi: (Laughs) "Nice strategy."

-Later in class-

Trent: "Hey, is this seat taken?"

Cameron: (Looks up) "Nope!"

Trent: "Thanks." (Sits down) "It's Cameron, right?"

Cameron: "Yeah, and… Trent?"

Trent: "… yeah."

Teacher: (Walks in) "We've got a lot to do and not very much time, so I'm gonna get right too it. We're starting a new writing project that requires partners and I never got a chance to assign partners so your partner will just be whoever you're sitting next too."

Trent: (Looks at Cameron, without him seeing, and smiles.)

-Leaving the room, after class-

Trent & Cameron: (Laughing and talking)

Trent: "So, I'll talk to you later?" (Starts walking the other way)

Cameron: "Yeah, talk to later." (Walks over to Jane)

Jane: (Talks quietly) "Did I just see you flirting with the new kid?"

[Note: Jane is the only one who knows Cameron is gay.]

Cameron: "No. We were just talking."

Jane: (Puts her hand on her hip) "Do you like him?"

Cameron: "Shhh… don't talk so loud! And no, I don't like him."

Trent: (Walks up to them) "Hey, Cameron. Um, I think we should get together sometime, you know, to work on the project."

Cameron: "Yeah, that'd be a good idea…"

Trent: "Cool." (Hands him a piece of paper with his number on it) "So, anytime works for me. Just call when you can."

Cameron: (Smiles) "Thanks." (Trent walks away)

Jane: "Well, I think he likes you."

Cameron: "You say that about everyone I like."

Jane: "Ha! So, you do like him!"
