Author's note: These last several months have been full of conflicted feelings. When the first episode of Season Two aired, I immediately hated Cam. But as time has gone on, I've found (much to my great surprise) that I actually like her (ducks just in case) and have wanted more and more for her to be the one who broke it off with Booth. I say this not only so Booth and Bones can get together (which we all know is supposed to happen), but also so that Cam can move on. By the way, I've heard whispers of Cam and Zach hooking up…. At first I laughed, but then I realized that I really, really, really like all of these characters and thought, hey, that'd make one, big, happy, squinty family! ;D

Cam sighed as she watched Dr. Brennen walk quickly out of the diner. There was only one person who could pull her away from the Squint celebration…and like that. Cam narrowed her eyes and scanned across the room to the large window and found her cause standing on the sidewalk: Seeley Booth.

Cam sighed again and told herself to look away, but couldn't help herself. She knew she and Booth had made no promises to each other and that they had both agreed to keep their relationship discreet, but she couldn't help wondering what was going on between the two of them.

Cam thought back to when she had first met Booth. What woman in her right mind would not immediately be attracted to him? He was loyal, a hard worker, a terrible tease, had good instincts and anyone who looked at him could tell you the sex would be wicked. But there was something else—Booth had heart. In fact, he had such a big heart that he often rushed in to save the day simply because it was the right thing to do…and because he could always do it.

Cam raised her eyebrows and folded her arms when she saw Booth tuck his finger under Brennen's chin. The look on his face made her stomach drop. There was a time when he used to look at me like that, she thought sadly, but now he hardly looks at me at all.

I thought it was weird, she told herself, when he chose to stay with her that night they were sitting up on the platform—he acted like I'd caught them doing something wrong. And when they were in Vegas I didn't like hearing him zipping up something on her and telling her she was "hot." And I sure didn't like how he blew me off when I gave him the report on the blood found in her apartment, she finished savagely.

Suddenly Cam felt her anger flare up and she nudged Zach with her elbow. He turned to look at her and she pointed out the window. Zach's eyes lit up as he spotted Booth and he raced to the window, effectively breaking whatever spell Booth had conjured up with his "Old Black Magic" and irrepressible charm.

Cam knew she shouldn't have enjoyed the look of disappointment she saw in both their eyes as they looked up at Zach, but it was too late to take it back now. She would not play the fool and she and Seeley would be talking that night.
