So, I have absolutely no idea where this came from. I just sat down and started writing. It's different from what I usually write but I like it. Tell me what you think! And as always, please review!

Oh, and I don't own anything, etc, etc.

As he turned the corner continuing on his stroll around the neighborhood, his eyes focused on one house in particular. He hadn't seen that house in a long time. He was a stranger now, but there was a time when he was just as much a part of that family as she was. Neither of them are now, though. She left when she heard about her parents, and he, well, he left when they broke up.

Nick stared at the house, lost in thought. His feet moving of their own accord, he walked up the driveway and then knocked slowly on the door. He could have gone through the window, once, but now that would be awkward. They hadn't talked in months. Everything they had was in the past now, and he felt like revisiting the past today.

Nick was about ready to give up when a blue-eyed beauty answered the door. Her cool blue eyes turned grey as she saw who was standing at the door. She looked beautiful. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she was in old sweat pants. Nick was pretty sure the shirt she was wearing his at one point in time. There was just one problem, tears were streaming down the young girl's face.

"What do you want Nick?" she sighed as she quickly wiped away her tears. He used to be the one who did that for her.

"I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I haven't talked to you in a long time and I wanted to see how you were. Are you okay Mi?" he asked.

"Does it matter if I'm okay? Who's fault is it that we haven't talked in months?" she spat at him.

"I'm sorry. But I'm here now, and I'm serious. Are you okay? What's wrong?" he tried to pull her into a hug but she pushed him away.

"No, I'm not okay. And don't touch me," she crossed her arms as she tried to shut the door. He stepped quickly and blocked her.

"Alright fine, I'm sorry. But will you answer me? What's the matter?" he said concerned. "I love you," he said quickly before he lost the nerve.

Miley's eyes bore into his head. "You don't get it do you?" she shook her head. "Smiling doesn't mean I'm happy. Laughing doesn't mean I don't cry. And loving you doesn't mean I'll wait for you for the rest of my life. I'm done waiting. But I will always love you," she said before shutting the door quickly.

Nick continued to stare at the door long after it was shut. Her words rang in his head. "Loving you doesn't mean I'll wait for you for the rest of my life." Shaking the words out of his head, he finally started to walk to away.

That was a part of his past now, a long time ago. He smiled at the memory and then tears started to form in his eyes as he remembered what she had told him. "I'll always love you too, Mi. And I'll wait, even if you won't," he said aloud as he headed home.
