Self-contained, self-sufficient, that was Smokescreen, one of those Autobot soldiers too good to be true, that independent. And he was good at seeming so, good enough to be a soldier of his own right, if he wasn't too new to the battlefield.
But Smokescreen had gotten used to the battlefield on his time upon Earth, and he started seeing the cracks, so many of them radiating out from the scars on the rest of Team Prime. Startling, like seeing the flaws in a faction so valuable.
The Autobot just wanted to be a great warrior. Now he stands by them, as a monument for them, still half-afraid that they'll break, because now he can see where they have broken before.
