It's not exactly easy being a Vocaloid.
You've got so much to say that you never can – gotta listen to the user, gotta say what the user wants. For the luckier, happier ones like Megpoid and Prima, this isn't a problem. Well, I'd assume it is, considering I've never met them. Being a Crypton Vocaloid, I'm only to associate with other Cryptons. I don't mind, really, I don't.
But humans have ideas about us that are wrong. Everybody thinks we're just a program, just a voice. But deep down, inside all this rigid coding, there's a bit of a soul. A little personality. A person, wanting to speak their mind. That's why I know that Megpoid and Prima are happy – their personalities.
Humans also try to give us personalities when they draw us, but for the most part, their personalities are wrong. From what I can tell, everybody thinks Kaito's a happy, caring, big brother type. I wish he was.
He, along with Meiko, and I assume the other Vocaloid1s, are angry and abusive. From what I can tell, they're jealous of the Vocaloid2s, saying original Vocaloids are much more talented, but are under-represented. I try reasoning with Kaito and reminding him he's popular, but he won't listen. Thank god I'm not a real person or my bones'd be broken.
Even though Kaito and Meiko are always angry, they're often in tears, too. Anger or sadness, I can't tell – but I think, to them, existing is torment. They were there first, they say. They should be more well-known, they say. I can't help it that I'm more well-known, because I don't know why.
I'm not sure how people represent the twins, I'm a bit out of the loop with that, but Len's a very happy boy. Rin's a little more stubborn, but she'll play sometimes. They're still very young and impressionable, but for the most part, they're friendly and happy. Len tries to make Kaito happy, but he'll just be beaten down. Same for when Rin tries to cheer up Meiko.
It's beyond me as to why the twins are eternally optimistic, but they've told me it's because they can see what's inside Meiko and Kaito. They say that deep down, they love us, and that's why they hurt us. I find that hard to believe. Why would you hurt someone that you love? Doesn't that defeat the point of loving them?
And, Madam Luka… if I remember right, she's usually the cool, aloof big sister type. Occasionally a murderess. But she's not like that – she's very warm and friendly. Very much like a mother. She'll shelter the twins, and help all of us when we can't sleep, or have problems with something. I don't know what we'd do if she wasn't here, because I don't remember what it was like before she came here.
Madam Luka tells me that Crypton is working on another Vocaloid. He'll be the big, strong father-type that we all need. He'll calm down Kaito and Meiko, and cheer the rest of us up. But he's not here yet. I don't think he'll ever be here. He's probably just a story that Luka tells me to keep me going.
As for what I'm like?
I wish I was dead.
