Plot: Tommy didn't know her middle name. Yet.
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Set after the first time Tommy/Kim kissed. It is a slight AU.
He kissed her.
Kim. That was who he kissed.
He had kissed Kimberly. Kimberly Hart. He didn't know her middle name. Not that he asked. He wasn't sure how to ask. Maybe one of the other could tell him.
He might not know her middle name, but he knew other things about her.
She loved gymnastics. Of course, many people knew that. But he knew she would hum to herself while she was doing it. She would go through three or four different songs when she practiced. They varied, depending on her mood.
When she was nervous or anxious, she'd bite her lower lip. There were times when she'd bit it so hard that it would bleed. She'd flinch and wipe the blood away, thinking nothing of it.
She loved music. He knew that she liked singers whom he had never heard of. He'd hear her humming them during classes at times. She'd listen to it any chance she'd get.
She usually ate lunch by herself.
He knew that she liked it that way, and wondered why. Why she would go out of her way to avoid them at lunch. None of them ever wanted to ask. She seemed content when he'd see her at lunch. Though there were times when she would spend lunch with them.
She had an addiction to coffee that few knew about. She would show up to school with a disposable cup in hand, gingerly taking sips as she walked up the steps. And when she'd reach the door, she'd down the rest in one or two gulps.
She tasted faintly like her favorite shake that she loved so. He had once tasted it when she had her back turned.
He closed his eyes, remembering it.
Yeah... shake... and coffee... and chocolate.
Kimberly Hart tasted like coffee, shake, and chocolate.
He couldn't help but think about it for a moment, stopping dead in his tracks. There she was standing in front of him. She blushed and placed a kiss on his check.
Kim smiled and shifted her weight. "Hey, Tommy." There was an underlying edge of tenderness present in the way she spoke his name.
"Hey, Kim." Acting on impulse, he pulled her forward and kissed her on the mouth.
Ever so slowly, she stepped closer to him. She hesitated before placing her arms around his neck. He let his arms immediately encircle her waist. His hands were spanning the bare skin of her back as he tried to pull her even closer. He couldn't help but shiver a little as on of his hands started to slid a little up underneath her shirt. Quickly removing it, he ran his fingers through several strands of hair, playing with them. "You taste like coffee, Kim, you taste like coffee, and shake, and chocolate. You listen to people I haven't even heard of. I don't know your middle name, but I know you love gymnastics, and you like spending lunches alone, you--" His words, that were barely a whisper, was abruptly shut-up as her lips came crashing down on his.
The combination of his pressure of his lips and the soothing circles his hand was tracing on her back would have melted her into a helpless puddle if it wasn't for his arms holding her up. It was almost as if he were holding a delicate china doll. She pulled away for moment, her breathing labored. "Ann." She whispered.
Tommy blinked his eyes still slightly glazed. "What?" He wondered out loud.
Kim giggled slightly. "My middle name, it's Ann."
He grinned and pulled her into another kiss.
Kimberly Ann Hart.
He had fallen for her.
Hard.
