Silver would never say this, but he always thought his battles with Gold were crazy.
That is, until he saw Gold's battles with Red.
Red was a pretty nice guy, but when he was battling anyone he knew, he was ruthless in a way that you couldn't get mad at him for.
"Iron tail."
Silver winced as Gold's Aipom fainted. The red haired boy was staring from behind a boulder as his rival gingerly picked up the purple monkey, returning it to its Pokeball.
"Red's crazy right?"
Silver jumped, as Green spoke from behind him, and then nodded.
Silver looked over at their rivals; Red looked completely normal, all his clothes in place, as though he hadn't just been in a Pokemon battle.
Gold on the other hand, was not in such a state. All of his clothes were singed from…fire? Silver wouldn't know how that had happened; he only saw the end of the battle. His cap was on front ways, and his hair was sticking out in every direction. He also seemed to be covered in a layer of sand and snow.
It's like the trainer, not the Pokemon, was doing the actual battling when it was against Red.
Silver never wanted to battle Red.
Red looked towards where Green and Silver were hiding, "Hi Green, Silver."
Green was unfazed as he strolled out, "Hey guys."
Silver walked out without a greeting, stopping to stand near Gold. He didn't like Green too much.
"So Red, I've been wondering for a while. What do you eat up here, there's no way you had enough food in your back pack to last you."
"Snow."
Silver grimaced, he couldn't tell if he was joking or not.
Gold nudged Silver, he couldn't read Gold's expression for a second until the boy grinned and held out a fist.
Said fist was covered by a burnt glove, but Silver ignored it, and knocked his own fist with Gold's.
"You could smile once in a while, Sil."
Silver grunted, "Don't call me that."
Silver didn't want to deal with the craziness that was Red, but he could definitely deal with Gold.
I always laughed at Red in the game and how quiet he was. And probably crazy for living on the top of freezing Mt. Silver!
