Roles

Kathryn could've played the 'Annette' or the 'Cecile' with ease. If she wanted to be naïve, then she would be naïve. If she wanted to give off the role of the innocent victim, then hell, she'd be the innocent victim.

But Kathryn held little regard for innocence and naiveté.

So instead, in the drawn out soap opera that was their lives, she played the initiator. The Tempter. She caused the pain, sprung forth the misery. She flirted with their weaknesses. Teased their shortcomings. And like a domino effect, they fell one by one.

It seemed so ruthless. So heartless. But who were they to point the finger at her? Was it her fault that they were so weak? So sensitive? No, she couldn't be blamed for their actions. She simply nudged them into motion.

But as always, people like Annette and Cecile come out on top, because good conquers evil in the end. Or so the saying goes.

But Kathryn had always doubted that Annette and Cecile were the 'good ones'. It was all too easy to picture them as the sole victims of deception, the products of manipulation. How unfortunate for those two sweet, doe-eyed girls to be caught up in such terrible lies.

In reality, however, Kathryn doubted Annette and Cecile held any regard for innocence and naiveté themselves.

But she did suppose she'd have to join the audience and give them a hand.

The two were awfully good actors.
