My one Special Person

It's always been odd. I feel like all my memories are missing, but I haven't forgotten anything at all. I feel like there is someone out there who I have a strong bond with but haven't actually met yet. And yet, this is enough to get me through the day. This is enough to make me smile. This is enough…just to live. I've always felt alone, disliked. Hated. Under-appreciated, well, I suppose anyone who thinks that is right. But I am confident I will meet that one special person out there. The one who has been giving me strength all of these years, I have no idea who he is. I don't know when or how I'll meet him. But if there is one thing I do know. He is my one special person.

"Do you not see something wrong with this, Ayato-san?" the teacher asked a woman with short, greenish hair who sat calmly in her chair.

"Why's there a problem, if my son is happy with this then I see no problem," Ayato said.

"No problem? We ask your 10 year old boy to write a paragraph about who's most special to him and he says someone who he hasn't even met yet. Not only that but your son's attitude has always been so rude and cocky, this is not how your son would write!" the teacher exclaimed.

"Then it really must mean a lot to him," Ayato saud smiling slightly at her son's sincerity in the paragraph. Though the teacher was right, it was not his usual way of writing, but there was no mistaking his handwriting.

"No, he didn't write it at all!" the teacher argued.

"That's my son's handwriting, no mistaking it, we're done here," Ayato said and stood up from her seat. The teacher gaped at her disappearing form.

4 years later

"Honestly, Naoi, you're incredibly smart, apply yourself. You shouldn't need a tutor at all!" Ayato exclaimed, her kid was too smart for this.

"It's not my fault everything they do is too easy, I shouldn't even need to be doing any of this crap," Naoi said in his cocky voice.

"Ugh, Naoi," Ayato snapped but was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. "That must be him." Naoi answered the door and was met up with the sight of a red haired boy with a sort of friendly look about him.

"Um, you're Ayato Naoi, right?" he asked.

"Otonashi-kun," Naoi muttered, staring up at the boy in awe, not sure how he knew his name.

"Um, yes, are you Ayato Naoi?" he repeated.

"Yes, yes, that's me," he said cheerfully. Ayato suddenly wondered what got into her son. Was he…no, he couldn't be. There was no way that her son was gay. Ayato took another glance at her son before blushing, it was possible. After the tutoring session was over and Otonashi left Naoi smiled up at his mom with too much joy for Naoi.

"That was him mom, my one Special person," Naoi very nearly cried.

"Are you…" Ayato trailed off with almost a secretive look.

"NO! He's just the one I always knew I would meet! The one I have a strong bond with!" Naoi exclaimed.

"Oh, ok, but how can you be sure?" Ayato asked.

"Because, when I saw him, I already knew his name and face from somewhere before," Naoi explained.

"Are you saying you met him in a past life?" Ayato raised an eyebrow.

"Not at all, I'm just saying I knew him before this life began," Naoi answered. He'd finally found it, that one special person…
