So this is me, the master of screwing up a song-fic. The song is JoDee Messina's "Bring on the Rain."--Jaz
Bring on the Rain
Yoh sighed and sat down in a dark corner of the room he was staying in in Dobie Village.
"Master Yoh…" Amidamaru began, then stopped. His master was so depressed, looking out the window to the moonlit sky, the clouds hovering, about to bring about their wrath of wetness upon the world.
Another day has almost
Come and gone
I can't imagine
What else could go wrong
Had they really lost the fight for Lyserg's soul? He had been such a good friend… It was all his fault, Yoh knew. Somehow, he had caused Lyserg to run from them, not to seek refuge with their little group. He sighed. How could he—Yoh Asakura—lose a friend to the X-laws?
Sometimes I'd like to hideaway
Somewhere and lock the door
He stood and stared out the window more, daring the clouds to unleash their fur. Amidamaru moved back, having never seen such a look or despair in his master's eyes.
A single battle lost,
But not the war
'Cause tomorrow's another day,
and I'm thirsty anyway,
so bring on the rain
"Master Yoh," Amidamaru finally said, again beside the boy. "Lyserg—"
"Lyserg knows what he has to do. As long as he accomplishes his goals, I don't care how he does it."
It's almost like the hard times
circle 'round,
A couple drops, and they all start coming down
He had lost to the X-laws, he knew. Only this time, though. Next time, he would be the clouds and let his emotions free.
Yea. I might feel defeated,
And I might hang my head.
I might be barely breathing
But I'm not dead, no
"Do you think he'll be all right?" the ghost asked solemnly.
'Cause tomorrow's another day,
I'm thirsty anyway,
So bring on the rain
Yoh turned tand looked to hi friend with a sudden, wide grin. "Of course he will! And We'll see him good as new—Chloe, too!"
No, I'm not gonna let it
Get me down,
I'm not gonna cry,
And I'm not gonna lose
Any sleep
Tonight
'Cause tomorrow's another day,
and I am not afraid,
so bring on the rain.
The clouds let their fury go, letting it upon the village below, and Yoh looked for tomorrow.
