Chapter One

While lying on my bed, my alarm clock suddenly went off. At the noise I literally fell off. My sister, whom happened to be passing by, swallowed her laughter by covering his mouth. I quickly shot an evil glare and quickly got dressed in my school uniform. The same one every time. A white top with pink stripes and a pink skirt with a matching white ribbon for my short hair. I always hated it, but my mom insisted that I wear it.

I ran full speed down the stairs remembering that it was seven fifty. While coming to the last step I tripped falling face first. I quickly got up making sure no one caught a glance at my clumsiness. Luckily Risa was talking on the phone, and mom was cooking breakfast.

I sighed in relief and walked to the kitchen.

"Aren't you late for school?" ask mom. My eyes widened the question.

"OH NO! I'm gonna be late!" Quickly I grabbed Risa by the collar and dragged her to school.

When we arrived Risa stood frozen at the spot I let go of her. Still with the phone in hand, she frightenly walked in the school doors. I rolled my eyes and ran to her side, holding my bag in hand.

I met up with Mioa and Daisuke.

"Where have you been Riku?" Daisuke said as Mioa slyly eyed me.

"Home." I replied, "I forgot the time." I said catching my breath.

All for of us walked to class and sat down in our seats. The teacher walked in. She was wearing a blue blouse and a white skirt. I hope I passed I thought.

The teacher passed out the tests and I almost yelled aloud. Hey, it's not everyday I get a one hundred on an exam. Satoshi, behind me, leaned over to see what I made. He took a quick glance and just gave me a quiet growl. I was supposing I made a higher grade than him and shown a huge smile on my face.

After class was over, I spread the news around the school. It's not as if anyone who I told cared but it was always nice to talk about grateful things.

I stopped by the message board to see if there was anything new. It was no use looking though. It hasn't been updated in months. I glanced at all the papers and a flyer caught my eye. It read:

"Attention all students! We are proud to announce that we have a school play. It will be on the story, "Ice and Snow".

I always liked that story. I remember I read that book a million times with my dad, before he died. He would read it to me and Risa before bedtime. And one night I wanted to read it to him. While reading he noticed that I had the upside down. And that I have only memorized it.

I read on, "the casts try out will be this Saturday at two P.M."

I thought, why not tryout? It's not like I have something to do Saturday. I chose to be Freedbert, since she was the lead role.

I met up with Daisuke in the hallway. He seemed to be talking to someone

"Yeah, I saw while walking this morning." He said from behind a door.

I walked up to the door to peek in and see who he was talking to. I looked at his shadow that lay stretched on the tiled floor. I covered my mouth in shock to see darks shadow there in his shadow's place.

I gasp escaped my mouth.

"Anyone there?" a voice of the phantom thief asked.

I ran down the hallways, shocked as if I have been chase by a thief. I looked back and saw Dark spotting me and beginning to run.
