A/N Hi guys! This is my first fanfic so don't hate if it's bad. This is a Ruby x Sapphire fanfic from the manga. Just to let you know, they are both 18. Also this may differ a bit from the manga. I'll stop talking now so enjoy!
Disclaimer* I do not own Pokemon and I probably never will.
Ruby sat on a dock and waited. He had been waiting for quite some time now. He was fishing and seemed to have absolutely no luck. Why won't the stupid fish bite? He asked himself. He normally would never fish, but today was an exception. He had to blow off some steam. He had just fought with one of his best friends, Sapphire, just the other day.
Flashback*
"Are you joking me?!" Said Sapphire. She was trying to catch a new Pokemon that they had discovered, and it broke out again. "According to my pokedex, it's a Abra. It's a physic type, and it teleports rather quick-" Before Ruby could finish, the Abra teleported away. "Damn it!" Sapphire yelled. "Hey don't worry, you'll get it next time." Ruby said. "Yeah, I guess so. Wanna go grab some lunch?" Sapphire asked with a light tone. "Yeah sure! My treat though." Ruby replied.
They biked all the way over to a restruant in maulvill and sat down at a table. "I still can't believe we met 6 years ago today." Ruby said. "Yeah, and we have had some crazy adventures along the way." Sapphire replied. Once the had ordered, they went into deep conversation. Their food had finally come when Ruby then said, "I remember you were scouting everyday to impress your dad." Sapphire laughed. "Yeah, and you wanted to do those weird contest things. Those were kinda dumb." Sapphire looked up at Ruby. His eyes were wide and his face with red. "No wait! I didn't mean it like-" "Mean it like what? You didn't mean to insult what I love? Well I least I didn't look crazy when wearing a freaking grass bikini!" Ruby shouted. Sapphire stopped. Her eyes welled with tears. "You know? Maybe we are too different! Maybe we shouldn't be friends!" Saphhire yelled. Ruby looked shocked. Was this all really happening? Ruby thought. He didn't know what to do. "Fine!" He yelled back on instinct. Sapphire stood up and left the restruant. Ruby sat in awe, before getting up and leaving himself. He went back to Littleroot, and laid in his bed. He couldn't comprehend what had happened. A tear ran down his cheek, and plopped next to him on his sheets. He then closed his eyes, and drifted into a dark slumber, full of nothingness. No dreams, no nightmares, just peace.
Present*
Ruby shook his head at the thoughts, and decided to give up fishing. He hopped on his bike, and rode to his secret base. He went in there, only to find Sapphire not there. He sighed, and sat on the chair to turn on the tv and watch news.
