"I'm sorry, Sara," Michael barely managed to choke out.

They were alone in the hotel room thanks to Lincoln, who had convinced them that they needed the time to discuss what had gone down. Michael was hurting thinking about the grief and pain Sara must have felt when he was forced to leave her. It hurt even worse to know the anger she felt when she found out he chose to leave them to protect them. He didn't want her to tell him that it wasn't his fault. He wanted her to tell him how she felt. How she felt about him.

"Don't do that. You didn't have a choice. You know how hell bent I would've been on keeping you. I would've been selfish. I would've been in jail to protect you and Mike would be in the system. No matter how much it hurt, Michael, I appreciate what you did." Sara softly said, placing her hand on his knee.

"I never wanted to leave you and Mike. I wanted to stay. I needed to stay. But that son of a bitch.." Michael started sobbing and it broke Sara's heart. She knew exactly how he felt. Sara pulled Michael's head to her chest and held him. And God, did it feel good to have him in her arms.

"When Mike was born.. I was resting in the hospital bed, doped up on drugs," Sara chuckled nervously, "I saw you.. In the window of the door. I figured it was the medicine and the stress making me hallucinate. I-"

Michael cut her off with a weak chuckle, " I was there, sweetheart… I was there. I wouldn't have missed that for the world."

Sara kissed the top of his head and rubbed circles into his shoulder, "I knew it. I knew… I knew that you weren't gone. I smelled you everywhere."

Michael looked up at her and smiled, "Poseidon would've had to kill me to keep me from visiting you. Even if it was just in the shadows." Michael's smile faded but his eyes were still tracing her features. Sara felt overwhelmed by the love she felt for him, so she pressed her lips to his gently. Michael sighed in relief. Michael's tongue ran across her bottom lip, and Sara's lips opened, inviting him in. The familiar taste of her mouth made his spine tingle. The kiss wasn't rushed and it wasn't desperate. It was slow and they both knew they needed it bad.

Sara broke the kiss before it got too heated, "I missed kissing you. I missed holding you. I missed your handsome smile, your laugh, your blue eyes. I missed you. I missed you so much. I missed you more than my mind could fathom. God, this right here is what i've been begging for years for. You have no idea.."

"Marry me." Michael blurted out.

Sara's face broke out into a smile. She closed her eyes and placed her forehead against his, "We are married. You're my husband. Not that son of a bitch. You. It has always been you."

That's all Michael needed to feel assured that everything will be okay. That he has his family back. His wife. His son. He's got it all back.
