AN: This is a quick one shot I came up with while home sick from work this past week recovering from bronchitis. It contains two quotes (in bold) I saw on the Babe & Plum Family Challenges Facebook page. I hope someone else will use them to write a one shot or in their chapter stories. I think they are great for the Plum world.

I'm Ranger Manoso and right now I'm standing outside Trenton PD listening to a man that I despise. Does anyone know that I despise him? Of course not, I have my blank face on, as always, so no one knows what I'm thinking. Whenever I speak about him to Stephanie, I never say anything bad. She doesn't need to hear it and it would serve no purpose. She has a mind of her own and hates when anyone tells her what to do. The thing is Morelli hasn't figured that out yet. I stand there while he continues to rant and wave his arms. He looks like a damn windmill, maybe a demented chicken. What can my Babe possibly see in him? Just because you have a past with someone, doesn't mean you should have a future with them.

He begins to wind down so I unfold my arms and uncross my legs as I push off the fender of my black Ram truck and calmly walk around the vehicle and open the door to climb in and Morelli grabs my arm. I just look at his hand and then look at his face which is red, well more like purple. With that god awful smirk he thinks is so charming, his face returns to a more natural color, and snips, "What dontcha have anything to say for yourself? Bet you want to punch me, huh?"

I smiled, an evil one at that, as he drops his hand from my arm. An audience has gathered to see what will happen next. I see money changing hands and heard Costanza say, "I got a hundred he drops Morelli with one shot."

I inwardly smile at the comment, looked around and raised my voice slightly so everyone would hear what I had to say, "My momma didn't raise a fool. A fucking psycho maybe, but no fool." After all I had done plenty of things in the Army and as part of my career as a mercenary these people would think were psychotic. I heard a lot of murmurs before I continued, "I'm not stupid enough to punch a cop in front of the entire TPD. I have a successful business and I will not stop supporting Stephanie so whatever your power play is Morelli, leave me out of it. And gentlemen, if I see another dollar exchanged in bets regarding myself or Stephanie, I will go to the Chief and Internal Affairs."

I heard a lot of muttering and coughing as I climbed into my truck and drove off. Morelli stood there dumbfounded. It was a good look on him. I wonder how long this would take to reach Stephanie. I knew gossip spread fast in her neighborhood. Maybe I should step up and let her know how much she means to me. Maybe I should tell her I was in love with her. Would it make a difference? Maybe I should find out.
