The Next Note
Prologue
Hello, my name is Reaper, and before you ask, no. Reaper is not my real name. I can't trust anyone with my name anymore, it's just too risky. You might be a member of the Police Force, or worse, you might have a Death Note. For those of you who don't know, and I can't imagine why not, a Death Note is essentially a weapon of mass destruction. If you write the name of someone in the Death Note, they will die, there are so many rules, loopholes, tricks and stories about the Death Note that I'll tell you about later. Anyway, I have one such note, but I'm definitely not the first. Twelve years ago, the Kira case came to a close, the Kira case was the largest mass murder case in recorded history. Kira was a person who had gotten his hands onto a Death Note, but he turned out to be a very smart teenager named Light Yagami. Light tried to use the Death Note to purge the world of evil, but failed and died in the end. At first, a genius detective named L tried to find Kira but died by the note of a shinigami known as Rem. Shinigami (death gods) are the original owners of the Death Notes. A shinigami named Ryuk dropped his notebook into the human world to see what would happen and Light picked it up. Anyway, there were actually three Kiras: Light Yagami, a girl with a huge crush on Light named Misa Amane and a fanatic believer in Light, a lawyer named Teru Mikami. Their stories are over though, but mine's just beginning, you see, I don't want to purge the world of evil. I don't want to because it's impossible, what am I going to do, terrify people to be good and righteous, what would be the point? I know that I would try to rebel against this "god" who kills and doesn't call it a sin, but "holy judgement"…. The fool…. I want to have fun is all, and I've figured out a useful trick that doesn't really hurt anyone and can actually elongate life. So that's what I use the Death Note for, to kill, to control, to give life and to have fun simple as that……oh one more thing before I tell my story, this isn't being written in a Death Note……. Man this was a short prologue but don't worry, the chapters are longer… and much more interesting.
