She had long since gotten over embarrassment. Him bending close to her belly acting as if he was studying evidence, when really he was just talking to or educating their child on the finer points in life. Those things being the Yankees newest recruit, the less than lack luster year the Giants had, and of course today's topic of choice DC Comic book characters.
The first time he did it, of course with the whole lab being able to see inside the room one of the lab techs who thought they knew him well enough thought they would get smart.
"Williams had the strongest arm in his division," Danny read from the paper, his face inches from Lindsay's belly.
"Geesh Mess, can't you do that stuff in private on your own time? The whole lab doesn't want to see that," Kevin said laughing as he walked off towards the locker rooms.
He bent forward and kissed her belly, "Daddy will be right back. He's got something to take care of."
"Danny?" Lindsay asked worriedly.
"'Sokay Montana," he assured her as he quickly kissed her.
Stalking into the locker room, he found his target.
Kevin had his back to him, changing out of his lab coat. Hearing the door open behind him, he turned around just in time to have Danny push him against the locker his forearm pressing into Kevin's neck.
"Wha-" he gasped out.
"I won't have ya disrespecting my family like that, ya got it?" He said through clenched teeth.
"I uh," he gasped out.
"Got it?" Danny repeated himself.
Kevin nodded his head up and down vigorously.
"Good," Danny said satisfied. He released his hold on Kevin and let him gasp for air.
He heard the door open behind them, "Danny?" he heard her say to him.
"Sokay baby, we were just talking. Weren't we?"
Kevin grumbled an agreement.
Danny nodded his head in agreement, and then turned to face her. He walked over to her and placed his hand on her growing belly, "I love you Montana, both of you," he whispered in her ear.
"I know you do Dan. You don't need to do things like this to prove it," she gestured to Kevin.
"I'm sorry," he apologized quietly to her.
She cupped his face, "You don't need to apologize to me," she gestured at Kevin again who was still gasping for air.
Nodding his head in agreement he turned to Kevin, "Hey man, sorry about…."
Kevin held up his hand stopping him, "I get it man, really."
And since that day no one had bothered to interrupt their private time.
