I'm Sorry
I ran. Ran to the top of the letters and looked down, they were watching, I was watching for someone else, someone that has not done anything this whole time. Yet, she's not there. I wonder where she is…
"Stop." I looked in front of me and there, right there, she is armed and ready, her starbolt lit in her right hand. "Do not move." Her eyes.
"I thought I told you to use that blaster. Attack. Now!" he told me, and I obliged. I brought up the blaster at her, armed. Her eyes, they pierced in my soul, the way they looked when she… relaxed.
"Robin, you are my best friend, I cannot be in a world where we must fight, if you are truly evil, the go ahead, do what you must." She brought her hand down and was about to let me hurt her. I brought down my weapon as well.
"Starfire no. I-"
"Robin! I gave you an order. If you don't attack-my probes will." I could hear him press the button through the microphone in my ear. And then, I saw it. Her body twisting and turning in pain, moaning and groaning, she was glowing orange and white and it looked like the pain wouldn't stop. She fell from the air groaning all the way.
"Starfire!" I ran to her and caught her. I looked down at to her face, she was in pain, so much pain, all because of me. I looked to my friends, thriving on the floor. I looked out into oblivion.
"Stop! Please, stop!"
"Attack Robin. It's the only way to can save them. Attack with everything you've got." And again, I obliged. I set her down to the ground she lay there, in pain.
She brought her left arm up as if trying to grab hold of me, so I wouldn't leave. "R-Robin." When she said my name it broke my heart, I wanted to die, but she couldn't.
"I'm sorry." I brought the blaster and she her with it. When the mist died, she lay there; unconscious, but normal. I kneeled down beside her, I want to cry, I hurt her! I hurt her! I pulled a stray hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "Forgive me," I whispered, "Please, I'm so sorry. Please. I didn't want to see you die! Please forgive me!" I cradled her in my arms and buried my face in her hair. "Please, I'm so sorry. Please." I brought the top of her head away from my face and looked at her, unconscious, she looked so beautiful. Without thinking, I brought my lips to hers and placed a light kiss upon her lips. "Please, I love you, I'm sorry." I murmured against her lips and then I separated from her, set her down on the ground just as she was before and walked away, ready until they wake up. I will pretend nothing happened, I would fight for only a little longer. And then when I get back, Slade will pay for what he made me do to her! I will come back to you, Star, I'll make sure of it.
