Daughters
I do not own The Vampire Diaries or the Originals in any way.
Elijah had always tried to protect her. He had always treated Talia like his own daughter when in reality, she was his brother's.
Her mother had died in childbirth and begged Elijah to hide her daughter from Klaus.
Elijah had always made good on this promise.
Until the day Klaus showed up at Elijah's place uninvited.
The doorbell rang.
"Talia, be a dear and go see who that is", Elijah said, not looking up from his book.
The Hybrid girl made her way to the front door.
She opened the door and her smile dropped.
"And who might you be, love?" Klaus asked.
"You're Niklaus", she said.
"Ah, so you've heard of me", he said with a smirk.
"Let me go get my uncle", Talia said, not wanting to anger Klaus.
"Uncle? I presume you're talking about Elijah?" Klaus said advancing on the young hybrid.
She tried to run, but he grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground.
"Elijah!" he yelled.
Elijah came down the stairs and stopped when he saw Talia on the ground quietly crying, her hair tousled.
"Who is she?" Klaus growled.
"Now, now, Klaus. There's no reason to manhandle a woman", he said. Klaus grabbed Talia by the hair again and hauled her to her feet. "Do you want to tell me, darling?" Klaus asked her.
"Go stake yourself", she spat.
"She has fire in her, Elijah. I'll give her that", Klaus said, "But I will ask again, who. Is. She?" Klaus pulled out a dagger and placed it on her throat. "Tell me!" Klaus yelled.
"She's your daughter, Klaus", Elijah told him.
"You're lying", Klaus said, tightening his grip on Talia.
She softly cried out in pain.
"Do you remember, Holly?" Elijah asked Klaus.
Holly had been a werewolf that Klaus had had an affair with in the 80's.
"It's not possible", Klaus said.
Talia partially shifted her body and bit down on Klaus' arm.
He yelled and threw her.
She landed at Elijah's feet. She spat out Klaus' blood.
Klaus growled at her and she growled back. Klaus was usually never one to back off, but the young hybrid had impressed him. "I want a test", Klaus told Elijah.
"I doubt they do paternity tests on the living dead", Elijah said, "But I will hire a witch. Surely there's a spell that could be performed".
A week later, it was confirmed that Talia was indeed Klaus' daughter.
However, it didn't change anything between the two.
Elijah still claimed Talia as his own and Klaus could care less if he had a daughter or not.
Talia didn't claim Klaus as her father, but she still suffered the consequences.
When Talia was killed to get back at the Original family, Klaus wept.
He thought about how he had completely missed out on her life.
After getting revenge on the person who killed her, he vowed that if he ever had another child he would not do the same.
