Everything was going horribly wrong lately. Amy couldn't stand it anymore. Every time they were one step closer to finding the truth, something bad happens.

Just recently Erasmus was killed. Erasmus Yilmaz was a good friend of William McIntyre, their lawyer and trusted friends (who also got killed). This all happened because of the Vespers.

Amy felt guilty for Erasmus's death because she was the one who ordered him to go check out the Vesper safe house in Mumbai, India. His death was partially her fault.

To make things worse, she received a message from Sinead saying that Ian was a traitor. That he was the Vesper Three, the mole. What else could possibly go wrong?

"Amy," Dan interrupted her thoughts. "It's not your fault." Amy turned to look at him.

Dan, Jake, Atticus, and she were on the plane traveling back to the U.S to find Vesper 1's next ransom. Jake and Atticus were asleep but Dan was still awake. He was playing the newest Angry Bird version but stopped when he noticed Amy's expression.

She sighed. For some reason they both can read each other's thoughts easily. They usually communicated that way. She didn't want to worry Dan, especially since he hasn't been his usual self lately. But she couldn't hide anything from him.

"But Dan," her voice trembled. "I was the one who told him to and check it out. I was the one who sent him on a suicidal mission. It's my fault." Tears were streaming down her face.

"And," she continued. "We have a mole in our command center. Some leader I am."

"Amy, listen to me," he said. "It's not your fault. Even if you told him not to check it out, Erasmus would still have done it anyway. There was nothing you can do to prevent it."

What her dweeb brother said did make sense; Erasmus would have done it if it was the right thing to do. But she still couldn't help feeling guilty.

"About Ian," Dan said. "I don't really think he's the mole."

"Dan defending a Cobra?" she said forming a small smile. She never thought she'd see a day when Dan isn't insulting the Kabras.

"I don't like Ian. I'm just saying that Ian isn't that smart to be a mole. He may be hiding something but I'm pretty sure he isn't a mole. We'll figure this out," he reassured her.

Now that she thought about it, it did seem strange that Ian is the mole. Especially since his sister was captured.

I won't worry about this now, she thought to herself, first deal with Vesper One's demands than worry about the mole.

The flight attendant announced that the plane will be landing shortly in twenty minutes.

After having that little conversation with Dan she felt more confident. She had enough of the Vespers toying with her. She was tired of being their little puppets. She's ready to face whatever the Vespers have planned for her. She wouldn't let them win.

"Hey Dan," she said. "Maybe you aren't such a dweeb after all."

"Who are you and what have you done with my sister?" he replied.

Amy smiled to herself. Everything will go alright. They will prevail against the Vespers.

As the plane landed Amy thought, I'm ready for you Vespers. Do whatever you want; you'll lose in the end. No one messes with a Cahill.
