Peridot put the whisk down, hands shaking slightly as she realised what she had done. Her face fell slightly, shame covering her features as she slowly looked down at the mess that had been created.
"Oh my god Peri" a scratchy voice came from beside her. She froze, green shoulders tensing as she remembered she was not alone. Peridots eyes darted swiftly to the left and caught Amethysts own, surprised to find they were not narrowed in a glare like she had expected but wide with surprise.
The kitchen was silent as the two gems looked over the batter covered floor. Moments passed unspoken before a sigh escaped Amethysts plump lips as she turned to face P-Dot.
"Dude. Pearl is gonna-"
"-kill us, I know." Peridot finished with a groan, banging her head against the counter with as much force as she could muster. Her thoughts turned to the other gems: what would they say? Would they hate her for messing up their temple? What's Pearl going to say? Are they going to poof he- wait, was that laughter she could hear?
With her thoughts shaken, Peridot turned to scowl at the purple gem, how was she not taking this seriously?
Suddenly, without thinking, she grabbed the whisk next to her and flung the remaining batter at Amethyst. There was a sickening squelch as it hit her face, the laughter stopped. Peridot reeled back in shock at her own action and quickly scrambled over to her friends side, apologising profusely.
"Amethyst! Oh, Amethyst I am so so sorry, I really didn't mean to-"
"Pfft ahahaha, oh my god P!" Squealed the larger gem, grinning mischievously. Her laughter doubled, tears running down her chubby face as the batter dripped onto the floor.
"You're not mad?" Peridot asked in confusion, watching as her friend scooped some of the batter off of her face.
"Mad? Of course I'm not mad!" Amethyst giggled, looking at the batter in her hand and turning to Peri with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "In fact, you just gave me a wonderful idea."
Peridots eyes widened as she realised what was happening, but she was too late. Batter covered her form and she blinked at her friends smirk.
"Come on, we'd better get cleaned up before Pearl finds out!"
