Shadowy Clouds

Bubbles couldn't feel the blood on her hands. She could only feel the hand interlocking with it. She looked to the clouds, hoping she'd see her Father's face smiling at her. A few dark clouds littered the dusty blue sky. The shadows cast by the clouds covered the bloodied mess of her father. She smiled vaguely as the last sparkle of innocence vanished from her light blue eyes. It was his fault. He decided not to let her play with her love.

He thought he could seprerate her from him. But how could one truly seprerate the bonds they shared that were so deeply interwined? Kill them? Well, it looks like she beat him to it.

...

"Thanks Boomer." Bubbles smiled at a black shadow. Her butterfly costume was crooked, the baby blue wings dropping and a single fluffy antenee was ripped in half. But she was content and grateful. The shadow emitted a deep grunt as it floated into the air, leaving behind the remains of scattered, bruised kids.

"Bubbles!" Proffessor shouted and ran towards his 10-year old daughter. "What have you done?" His gaze scanned the kids who either whimpered or stayed still with te faintest rise and fall of their chests.

"These mean kids tried to steal my candy, but Boomer came and beat them up, so they wouldn't hurt me!" Bubbles explained happily. She didn't know the damage done was as horrible as Buttercup throwing a baseball. She just knew Boomer stopped the kids. That's all.

"For the last time Bubbles, whoever this boy is stop playing with him!"

"But Proffessor!" Bubbles insisted.

"No buts, unless its in the house." Proffessor commanded and pulled Bubbles to the house. He ran up the stairs and locked her in her room. She fliched as the door slammed roughly, causing all the light to disappear.

"Re clel. Mo fri tire." A low voice uttered as her chest glowed. She pulled a small, silver necklace from her shirt and grinned.

"Hey, Boomer." She whispered softly.

"I can help you." He stated as the silver necklace glowed mysteriously.

"How?" Her problem was bad. No friends (surprisingly), no real room, and for some reason Proffessor had gottn meaner and meaner.

"Next Halloween." The glowing stopped as Bubbles put back the necklace. Looking around, she realized she had nothing to do, but to stay and think what would really happen next Halloween.

...

He started to hum. His head swaying side-to-side, going along to the rhythm of the tune. His dirty blonde hair fell on his face as he bobbed his head as the rhythm grew louder and louder. He took her other hand and started to sway gently.

"The moon speaks quietly to the wind.~" He sang deeply as Bubbles hummed the tune, dancing with him.

"As life grows weary, we join its prayers with love.~" She sang along with him.

The shadows grew longer, covering the corspe more as their song played along with the wind.

"~Death's only wish has come true. As Cupid once said, life is love too.~" Boomer dipped Bubbles, making her giggle when the tips of her golden pigtails touched the blood.

"~Halloween came to be as this.~" She smiled at Boomer and hugged him. "A perfect Halloween celebration, don't you think?" He leaned down to her ear, to where his hot breath tickled her neck.

"Not perfect enough for you." He whispered. Reaching his hand down to the pool of red, he dipped his finger and dotted her face with the liquid.

"The world will soon be yours, my love. Happy Hallows' Eve." He smiled and vanished into the wind. The shadows were always her friend.
