Before him, she had been wine. Red and sweet in the company of others, white and indifferent when she was alone and reflecting.

She had been classic and sophisticated, always molding to whatever meal she was served at. She never had a definite taste.

Some people may have been happy with her just as she was. They could have enjoyed all the different flavors and undertones she came with. But, to herself she was subtle, and boring.

With him, at first she could almost feel a small change. Then, when she and Gibbs had taken beyond a professional relationship, things really started to shift.

Before she left, she was so caught up in his taste she barely noticed how her own had changed.

After, though she saw herself shifting to Bourbon, trying to feel closer to him.

Now, they danced around each other, pretending they didn't notice the lingering looks that passed between them. Now, the Bourbon was consuming her, just like he was.

She knew, just like it had happened before those looks would turn into touches, and, his taste, Bourbon, him, would linger with her. And she would get hooked all over again.
