Tarnished Silver

...

Arise the Mountain Silver

Untarnished in its full mass

Rising above the heavens

Breaking the skies like glass

...

The sun shines at the peak tall

With blinding golden light

Towering over all under

Casting shadow with its height

...

Splitting the heavens up above

Chaining down those imprisoned below

And yet to be free in open air

One must reach the plateau

...

Vowing to reach the top

Gazing up at the peak

The journey must begin

There is no need to speak

...

Through forests, caverns and valleys

Over plains, mountains and seas

The quest cannot be stopped

'Till the spirit is pleased

...

Fighting through death's gaze

Battling scythe with will

Cast down the shadowed robe

And travel on when all is well

...

The finish draws ever closer

But alas! For it is in vain

The journey was the pleasure

And the end is the pain

...

Everything has concluded

There seems to be nothing more

What else can be done

But continue moving forward?

...

Enter the darkened cavern

Climb up the treacherous face

Battle through the bitter cold

Until there appears the place

...

The cliff over the sky

Gazing over the ground

It is the place for those above all others

A throne built on the clouds

...

But everything is still now

Except the fluttering snow

It is life without change

Is there really nothing more?

...

Trapped at the top

Solitary, confined, alone

It is not truly freedom

It is a dark, deep dungeon

...

Then another one appears

Taking on the challenge

Fighting with renewed passion

On life and death's fringe

...

But the strongest must lose

And the weakest must win

But then what will happen

To the one who was once king?

...

At the pinnacle of the world

When one has conquered all

Nothing can remain forever

So what can one do but fall?

...

Silver will tarnish

And iron will rust

The champion will die

And the challenger, rebirth

...

The flakes swirl in the clouds

The fierce wind blows all around

As he falls, earthbound, he knows

The world has moved on

...

He is from a previous generation

A remnant of days old

Now the cycle must continue forward

Blue to Silver and Red to Gold
