"Why? Why does she keep doing that?"
The Doctor looked up as Clara walked in from the inside of the TARDIS.
"Why does who keep doing what?" the Doctor asked, looking back down at what he had been doing.
"The TARDIS. She keeps hiding rooms from me and I don't know why," Clara said, walking up the steps to stand be the Doctor. "Why would she keep hiding rooms from me, Doctor?" Clara asked. "What have I ever done to her?"
"Because she feels threatened by you," the Doctor said absent mindedly.
"Threatened?"
"Of course, but it's probably me she's afraid of. I'm more childish and unpredictable with my feelings than my previous regenerations and that bothers her, so she hides things from you," the Doctor said matter of factly as he looked up at Clara, just to look back down again.
"So she's punishing me because she's afraid that you are childish and unpredictable with your feelings?" Clara asked confusedly.
"Mmhm," the Doctor agreed.
"Has she done this with any of your other companions?" Clara asked, leaning up against the TARDIS console so she could see the Doctor's face.
"No, just you," he looked up as she raised her eyebrow in a question.
He looked down again and said, "Rose was a threat, but she trusted my previous regenerations a little bit more. The other companions posed no threat at all. I never loved them the way I love you. You pose a threat because I love you and the TARDIS doesn't like that."
Clara looked at the Doctor in shock. "You love me?" she asked incredulously.
The Doctor looked up from what he was doing in shock as what he had said sunk in. "Uh, no. No. Where would you get that idea? Absolutely not," the Doctor said, straightening his bow tie nervously.
Clara looked at him and raised her eyebrow. She could always tell when her Doctor was lying.
The Doctor turned away from Clara. "Why don't we go make a nice souffle?"
When Clara didn't respond, he turned around. His hearts crumbled at the hurt look on Clara's face. He stepped toward her and reached up to cradle her face in his hands. He kissed her forehead, then looked down into her eyes.
"You're my impossible girl. My Clara. How could I not love you?" he whispered.
He leaned forward until their lips were centimeters apart. He watched as she closed her eyes and then leaned the few centimeters until his lips touched hers. Her hands came up and snaked around his neck, pulling him closer. He shivered as she started to run her hands through her hair. The kiss deepened as he dropped his hands to her waist and pulled her closer to him. He trailed a line of kisses down to her neck.
"Doctor," she moaned as he kissed her neck and then started to move his way up to her ear.
"I love you, my Clara," he whispered into her ear.
"I love you, too, my Doctor," she whispered back.
Suddenly the TARDIS made a loud noise and jolted, knocking the Doctor onto his back while dragging Clara with him.
"I don't think the TARDIS approves," Clara laughed.
"No, I don't think she does," the Doctor agreed. "But at this point, I don't care," he said as he pulled Clara in for another kiss.
