Heyooo!

This is extremely edited! I even replaced several characters and added some plot stuff... I hope this will be less confusing and will be easier to read.

thanks for giving me a chance!

I don't own.

"Come save her. You come and try to save her. You can't save her."

I woke up dazed and on the floor next to my bed, still wearing the rumpled and smelly uniform from last night's late shift at a small fast food joint. I took note of my surroundings and was relieved when I was sure that I wasn't in the same freaking cave in that wretched dream, but my shared room in apartment 4-E. I groaned as my head began pounding and aching. The dream had caused me a terrible, fitful few hours of sleep. It had been haunting me for such a long time, that dream. Recently, it had been occurring more and more frequently.

I was always alone in a cave, or so I would assume. I had only seen my surroundings so many times, but from what I saw, it was full of stalagmites and rocks. I would feel little shuffles and small breezes almost as if someone was brushing past me. It would go on for hours on end and only one phrase would be repeated over and over again in scratchy, crackling voice. "Come save her. You come and try to save her. You can't save her."

"NAT! We're going to be late!" a voice hollered into the small bedroom, interrupting my thoughts about the nightmare.

"Avery?" I croaked-yelled.

"Miss sleeping beauty awakens!" exclaimed my younger sister Avery, who was walking into our small room, brushing her teeth. "By the way, you were talking in your sleep again." She said solemnly. "Same dream?"

"No." I lied unconvincingly. "Hey Avery, what time is it?"

"6:31 A.M. June first."

June first, June first- what was on June First?

'The last day of school, dummy!' the know it all voice said in my head.

Of course. The last day of school.

"Great!" I half-heartedly grinned.

My hair was a mess of frizz and kinda greasy, but I forced it up into a ponytail. I put on the 'Hawkins Highschool' uniform, I shoved my jacket into my backpack and I walked Avery to the Grade school across the street.

There, I met up with my best friend Mavis and walk to school with him.

A word about Mavis Connelly before he says something stupid and you misjudge him. He's funny, a good listener and a good talker. Under pressure, he will tell you whatever you want to know which could be kind of a horrible thing for me because He knows all my secrets, but I know his, so he wouldn't dare. He has extremely messy dark red hair and brown eyes and is labeled as a prettyboy at HHS. On top of all that, he knows four things that no one else knows. My Dyslexia, ADHD, my anxiety, though that hadn't bothered me in a while, and my teetering financial situation.

So, about a year ago, before my eighteenth birthday, Avery and I had been living in a sucky orphanage. But then I officially turned into an adult, so they kicked me out with basically nothing. I lived in a homeless shelter for about a month until I found a job with the help of Mav and earned myself enough money to find a cheap place. Through three jobs and many, many double shifts, I pulled together enough cash to support Avery and adopted her. Everything was peachy keen- at first.

Then, I lost a job while moving into our present apartment and found myself struggling to pay rent and expenses. School was getting increasingly more difficult as my dreams would keep me up all night. I was barely scraping along enough money to support me and my sister.

"Does she know?" Mavis asked.

"I'm telling Avery after school," I replied.

"Nat, this can't carry on you know. She deserves to know-" Mav began saying.

Then, out of the blue, appear Jetta White and Emma Black (coincidental, eh?), the cheerleading co-captains, popular snoots who probably had come to sneer at my torn up converse and flash what Mavis claims to be "scary flirtatious smiles." God, I swore they weren't human.

"Hey, Mavis!" Jetta and Emma said together, batting their eyelashes, flipping their long hair.

I think I might've barfed a bit.

I stand behind the two chicks and make gagging gestures and Mavis laughs.

"Hello ladies." He says, flashing a grin. They giggled and swooned.

"Come on Mavis. Let's go before their dumbness rubs off." I muttered and he smirked. I dragged him all the way to the grand doors in the entrance.

We walked into class and took our desks which were (unfortunately) across the room. I watched as the popular jocks flicked Mavis' ear, and called him a prettyboy.

A bell rang, first period began and the teacher began talking.

"Hello class." Said our English teacher, Ms. Teras in that raspy voice of hers. "Today, you will work on your projects on proper grammar and parts of speech."

I made my way to Mav, who was my partner in the project, but was stopped as Teras said, "Ms. Reynolds, Mr. Johnson, Ms. White and Ms. Black, I would like to speak to you."

I glared at Mavis with an expression that clearly said, "Don't you dare tell her anything."

He looked puzzled as Jetta and Emma were Teras' favorite students, even though they didn't care to listen or learn in her class. The only thing that Teras ever called me and Mavis out for is every single time we do anything that could be considered "suspicious" (that's basically everything). Why would we, the "meddling hooligans" and the bane of Teras's existence, be called out with perfect Jetta and Emma?

On the way out of the room, I noticed something. A trio of a girl and two guys who I had never seen before were staring straight at us with urgent expressions.

Once we were in the hall, Teras led us into the gym which was strangely empty. There was a first period gym class, wasn't there?

"What did we do wrong-?" I started, only to be cut off by a hissing sound coming from Ms. Teras, Jetta and Emma.

They began to transform.

Ms. Teras' beady eyes glowed red and turn less beady until they were almond shaped. Her silvery hair turning into a dark blonde and then into a flickering to a mane of fire. Her wrinkled skin turned smooth, then turned a paper white. Her legs were now a pair of donkey's legs and she kicked off her shoes. She had hooves. She smiled, revealing sharp fangs.

Jetta's and Emma's brown and blonde hair were dancing flames, their eyes were dark red, their skin turning pale, their legs turning into a donkey's, feet turned to hooves, and smiles were now menacing and pointy.

The three monsters flickered from beautiful girls to terrible beasts.

"WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON?" Yelled a horrified Mavis.

That was when the gym doors busted down and out came the two strangers that were staring at us at the classroom.

"Those are empousa, the servants of Hecate!" shouted the girl who had dark hair and green eyes, drawing a spear. One of the guys who had blue eyes took out a sword. The other guy drew a knife.

"What the- !"

"WHAT? THEY LOOK LIKE VAMPIRES WITH AN ASS'S ASS-"

"It's not nice to talk about the legs!" snarls Ms. Teras.

"WAIT- WHAT? KELLI? PERCY KILLED YOU THOUGH!" shouts the guy with the blue eyes.

"I reformed! But while I was in the abyss, reduced to dust, I realized, my mistress was blind. Her lord was weak and was conquered by his own host! I have reformed. I have a new patron. And I am stronger than ever." Ms. Teras- Kelli- hissed.

"I was hoping you'd be a slow reformer." The other dude who had blonde hair, muttered.

"Well your mistress is reforming too. Annabeth killed her." Growled the girl.

"Enough talk. Let's eat." Jetta Grinned. She snapped her fingers and the walls caved in, one piece of wall falling on my legs. I tried to wriggle myself free, but felt sharp needles of agony and had to stop.

I cried out in pain as the sound of clashing swords and talons blurred together in the background. Mavis and the green-eyed girl came to me, pushing away the broken wall off my injured legs.

People seemed to dance around me, knives, swords and claws waving like crazy. In the back of my mind, I hoped that the emoposoms, or whatever they were called, were losing.

Then, I saw Kelli strike Blondie in the back and he tumbled forward, falling. His knife slid next to me. I reached to pick it up, finally free from the rocks. I winced as something was evidently not OK.

"Dislocated ankles." The green-eyed girl muttered and she glanced at my legs. "Eat this." She shoved a piece of something that tasted like chocolate into my mouth and the pain in my legs melted away. She then proceeded to pop my ankles back into place, which hurt like hell. "Sorry." She murmured, but then glanced up to see Kelli, ready to feed upon the struggling Blondie. She ran at Kelli, spear in hand.

"I usually don't take the girls. But I'll make an exception for this feisty girl." Kelli muttered at green eyes. Then, she took Blondie by the head and bent his neck. She was about to bite when Green eyed girl threw her spear. It struck Kelli in the face and then she dissolved into a fine dust.

Blondie dropped like a rag doll.

"Austin!" Green eyed girl exclaimed, whilst now trying to kill Emma.

"Addie, I'm OK." Austin said, gasping for breath.

"HEY! A little help!" yelled brown haired boy. He had been pinned against a collapsed wall by Jetta.

Austin jumped up. Austin began to run, but tripped over a rock and fell.

"Gah- my ankle!" He yelped. "Go help Connor!" He pointed at brunette dude and then gestured at the knife in my hand.

"WHAT? Are you MAD?"

"NO, just go! GO!"

I gripped his knife with shaking hands and threw it. It hit the wall, inches away from Jetta's fiery head. She let go of Connor and turned, facing me. Connor scrambled back, away from Jetta.

"You really think your puny little knife will conquer me?" she took a step forward and I took a few steps back.

"I am stronger than you, little demigod." Another step forward. Another big step back.

"I am wiser than you. Older than you." Step forward. Step back.

"I didn't like you from the start. You didn't like me either." Step forward. Step back.

"I have eaten demigods stronger than you for lunch. However, my mistress commands me to wait. She says you are special. " Step forward. Step back.

"My mistress will reform though. Tatarus will not close on her. But she cannot tell me to wait much longer." Step forward. I stepped Back, but stumbled as my ankles ached with an intense pain once again. "Shoot. I'm dead," I thought.

"No where to run now, is there?" Jetta was only a few feet away from me when Connor threw Addie's spear at the advancing empousa- only to miss.

Suddenly, my vision went white. All I could hear was a muffled scream in my ears. My vision darkened and faded into fuzzy spots in my vision and I crumbled to the ground, shaking and bracing myself for an excruciating death. My breathing slowed gradually and I realized I was still alive. I stood, bracing myself against the wall and glanced to the spot where Jetta had been standing. In her place was the the handle of the spear, slowly being swallowed into the ground. What? Did I do that- How-

"What?" I murmured, confused.

I looked to my left, only to see Emma dissolving into a dust.

I looked to my right to see Mavis, pale as a sheet and pupils dilated. He fainted.

"We should run now." Said Connor.

Green eyes blew a taxi whistle and five large winged horses swooped down.

We tried to pull Mavis on one of the horses, but failed.

"Um… does know how to wake him up?" asked Addie, eyeing the piles of Emma-Kelli dust that were gathering up into piles by themselves.

"Leave that to me." I said. "Sorry dude." I Whispered. I raised my hand and slapped Mavis right across the face.

He woke up, "WHAT- WHO- I- FEATHERS!"

"Get a hold of yourself Mavis!" I yell. "Now get on a magical flying horse before the beautiful evil vampire donkeys reform and try to kill us!"

He shut up and jumped onto a Pegasus, clinging tightly.

We flew off just as Emma and Kelli reformed completely. Kelli made a wild grab at my ankle, but luckily missed.

We left behind Hawkins with two monstrosities screaming bloody murder in the smoking, broken down gym.

Any confusion? Let me know!

Constructive criticism please!
