Shawn grinned as his legs swung back and forth, sitting on Lassie's Desk. Lassie was behind the desk, working on a case file, glancing up every so often at him, his face held in contempt.

"Spencer!" Lassie growled.

"Yes, Lassiepants," Spencer put on a face of complete innocence.

"Get off my desk," Lassiter leveled a glare at the child a top his workspace.

"Yes Lassiepants," Shawn jumped off the desk and headed toward Juliet's desk, stopping halfway as the chief came out of her office.

"Alright everyone, the FBI will be walking in at any moment," Chief Vick spoke clearly over the crowd. "Please be courteous and help them any way you can."

Shawn spun toward Juliet and Lassiter, "FBI, what FBI? Why do we need FBI?"

"There was a case a few years back that has been the work of a serial killer, they have moved up their progression in victims. This is two years too soon in their regular MO," Juliet said. She looked a little put out that she wouldn't be used as a main detective on this case. Lassiter looked more angry than usual.

"So . . ." Shawn tilted his head.

"It's the BAU coming Spencer, you are being more obtuse than normal," Lassiter barked. "As if

Shawn stood frozen, stiff in his stance. "No," he said voice soft, "They can't be here."

"What in the world are you talking about Spencer," Lassiter asked, his voice condescending as Juliet watched in confusion as Shawn began to inch towards the door.

Shawn had to get out of there; he couldn't see them, not yet. His wish wasn't granted as Chief Vick walked in with a stern man beside her. "Everyone this is SSA Hotchner and Dr. Spencer Reid. The rest of their team will be joining us soon, please point them in the direction of my office."

She began to walk the two men back to her office when the squirrelier male stopped dead. "Shawn?" Shawn's eyes were impossible large as Hotch turned to where Reid was focused.

"Mr. Spencer," Hotch zeroed in on the figure frozen mid-step.

"H-hotch, Spencer—how are you doing?" Shawn tried to act casual.

"You know Mr. Spencer?" Vick asked.

Hotch looked over at her. "Yes, Mr. Spencer was an agent until a little over a year and a half ago. One of the best behavioral analysts our department has ever had."

"What?" sounded from multiple people in the room.

"You are telling me that my lead psychic is also a behavioral analyst?" Chief Vick demanded, looking hard at Spencer.

"Uh—surprise." Shawn did a funny wave with his hand. "Please don't tell my dad."
