Sublimino scowled after his mother winced. *Mom is suffering. She won't get better* he thought. He remained near his mother's bed.
Sublimino faced his father. He viewed tears streaming down the latter's face.
Sublimino tilted his head in confusion. ''I never saw tears until now. Why are you sad?'' He watched as the other man scowled.
''Don't ask stupid questions!'' Sublimino's father exclaimed.
Sublimino's mother still writhed in agony.
''The answer is in front of you,'' the father said to Sublimino. He viewed his son frowning at the woman. He turned to her.
His tears fell on his wife.
Sublimino took a watch out of his vest. His lower lip trembled. Sublimino saw his father for a few seconds. His eyes were on the other man as he nodded.
The father kissed his wife's face. He continued to cry. He saw her smile. ''Your mother is aware of what you're planning.
She doesn't wish to suffer any longer,'' he said to Sublimino. A brief smile appeared prior to a nod.
A tear ran down Sublimino's face as he moved the watch from side to side. ''Try to focus on the pocket watch. You are getting sleepy.
You will close your eyes and never open them again.'' Sublimino viewed his mother while she continued to smile. He and his father sobbed after she closed her eyes. Sublimino made the right decision after all.
