Edward sat quietly, watching the marvelous creatures gallop wildly through the fenced-in pasture. What in the name of hell he was doing at this godforsaken farm with the Colonel was beyond him. Right now, however, Edward was perfectly content to sit in the evening sun, watching the horses graze and gallop.
Quietly, Roy Mustang snuck up behind Ed and sat-no, thumped-down besides him. Wrapping one arm around Edward's shoulder and pointing into the field with another, he said, "That horse reminds me of you, Edward."
Edward looked at where the man was pointing, to see a small brown gelding angrily fighting a much larger horse. Edward smiled. "Are you calling me small again, taisa? Well then, that horse reminds me of you."
Edward pointed to a large red horse that he had been watching galloping around earlier. Roy pulled Edward closer to him and said, 'How so?"
Edward repositioned himself into a more comfortable position besides the man. "Well, he's obnoxious and obviously annoying to the other horses-" Roy looked at Edward with an expression of mock insult.
"Did you have any other reason for pointing that horse out to me besides to insult me, Ed?" asked Mustang jokingly.
"Yes, don't interrupt me, taisa. The reason he's like you is-"
"Is…?" asked Mustang.
"That horse over there is three-fourths wild horse. That means he's seventy-five percent mustang."
Smiling at Edward, Roy bent down to kiss his lover.
