As Chloe pushed the stroller down the sidewalk toward the small playground she inhaled a deep breath of fresh air. Her son, now six months old, would grow up away from the smog and crime of the city. Reaching the mulch covered play area Chloe mused on how she had gotten here to this point in her life, as she pulled Marcus out of the stroller. It had been an easy enough transition from CTU to the private security firm, when she had told Nadia of her pregnancy the other woman had been happy for her and asked what she wanted to do. She had understood Chloe's decision to leave CTU and 'that world' and the two had kept in touch. Pushing the cooing baby in the enclosed swing Chloe felt at peace with herself and the world. Several minutes passed in silence, it was broken by the sound of a four wheeler approaching. In just a few seconds the driver pulled the vehicle up short next to a bench. Chloe stopped the swings forward momentum waiting to see who was intruding on her quiet time.
"Cute kid you got there." A very masculine voice said quietly behind her.
"He takes after his father," Chloe responded turning to throw her arms around Jack. "Whom I wasn't expecting home for several hours, how'd you get the afternoon off?" Before he could respond she kissed him deeply showing her approval at his arrival.
"We finished the project early, and since it was Friday, Jacobs was willing to hold off on starting a new one. I figured you were headed here when I saw you walking down the sidewalk, so I grabbed the camera and followed." Jack answered pulling the device out of his jacket. Marcus was fussing at the lack of activity so Jack handed the camera to Chloe and pulled the baby out of the swing stretching him over his head. Chloe took the opportunity to snap a few candid shots knowing Jack hated having his picture taken. They spent the next hour rotating between the slide and swings, enjoying their own little piece of nirvana.
