"Can I stop now Sam?" I asked.
"No!" my alpha ordered, "Keep running and try to keep up this time".
"Come on cub", Paul teased.
I growled. I ran as fast as my paws could take me, rushing past Sam, Jared, and Paul. I threw my head back and howled. I heard one from the distance. I stopped. "What was that?" I asked.
"The Black Pack", Sam said.
"You mean Jacob?" I asked.
Jared nipped me on the neck.
I growled and turned on him.
Sam stepped in front of me and growled. "Watch it pup", Sam hissed.
"You're just pissed because Jacob broke away and now your pack is smaller!" I yelled.
Sam knocked me to the ground and pinned me. "You wanna go protect the bloodsuckers, be my guest", Sam growled.
My eyes went wide.
Sam got off me and I got up.
My ears flattened against my head.
I felt my heart break. I took off running.
"Ayasha!" Paul yelled. He chased after me.
I came to the river.
Paul walked up to me and rubbed his snout against my neck.
"How could he?" I asked.
Jake had been my best friend since birth.
Paul didn't say anything. He just licked my neck gently.
"You're staying here", Sam said.
"I can do this!" I yelled.
"You're too young. Too new", Sam said.
I grabbed his arm and said, "You're gonna need numbers Sam…"
"And you have to be there for Paul", Sam said, "Fine, but you stay phased the whole time".
We stood there across Jacob's pack.
"Who's the newbie?" Jacob asked.
"Sam says it's Ayasha", Edward said.
"Little Ayasha?" Jacob asked, "Babe, what are you doing?"
Paul growled.
"Easy", Sam said.
Paul angled his body towards mine.
I met Sam's eyes. "I…I…I can't", I stuttered. I turned and ran. I couldn't go up against Jacob. I just couldn't.
No matter what Sam said.
"A good wolf knows when to walk away and go against their alpha", I heard Sam say, "Guess I really did make a wolf out of you".
