Jade was eating lunch with Beck when Tori came and sat down next to Jade.

"Can we talk," Tori asked.

Jade sighed and just nodded.

"Go on," she said avoiding eye contact.

Tori knew Jade wasn't going to make the first move to put an end to this feud between the two of them and she wanted them to be friends.

"Look… Jade… um… see the thing is… um… I-"

"Cat got your tongue Vega," Jade asked

"No I don't," Cat said

Everyone laughed.

"No Cat that's an expression," Beck explained

Tori took a deep breath.

"Look… I want us to become friends. I'm not entirely at fault for our arguing but I think I carry about half of the responsibility. I shouldn't have antagonized you the last major fight we had"

"You did that," Beck asked surprised.

"Yes," Tori said, "and I feel horrible about doing it and about the way I acted. That was just wrong on my part. I was mad and I didn't handle myself as best as I possibly could have. I feel as though I am in some way responsible for what happened."

"Well Vega," Jade said, "I appreciate what you just said. I think in some ways I've been too hard on you. You have to understand that I felt displaced. All of a sudden you were the queen of Hollywood Arts. I was afraid to lose Beck and after you kissed him-"

"I never did," Tori said, "That was a stage kiss"

"A WHAT!"

"A stage kiss is when it looks like you're kissing but you're really not," Tori explained

"I know what a stage kiss is Vega," Jade said, "But the point is that it's hard for me to go from being the best to being second best. Compared to you I'm a loser-"

"Jade," Beck said sternly, "You are not a loser"

"I'm not a winner," Jade said

"Says who," Tori and Beck said at the same time

"Anyway," Jade said, "You won the sing-off. You get all the leads INCLUDING the lead in Beck's play. Yeah you went through a tough time but it feels like it triples for me. I get in trouble for telling it like it is when I insulted you. But Beck finds it funny when you make all those little jabs about me. It made me insecure and don't you ever tell anyone that."

"Tori shouldn't make you feel insecure Jade," Beck said

"Last month you wouldn't even kiss me etc until I was nice to Tori," Jade said, "You always take her side. That makes me feel insecure"

Beck didn't say anything for a few minutes. He was desperate to get Tori and Jade to be nice to each other. He never realized he was hurting Jade in the process.

"I shouldn't have been egging you on and antagonizing you," Tori said, "At first I thought it was funny because you've always been kind of mean to me. I should have stuck up for you. I definitely should not have laughed at what you were going through."

"Okay," Jade said, "I accept your apology"

"Accept mine too," Beck said, "I definitely didn't handle the situation correctly. Even if I had said things a little differently it would have been better. I love you Jade. Don't ever doubt that"

He kissed her.

"I will always love you," he added, "Even when I don't like everything you do. You'll always be number 1 in my eyes. One more thing. Tori may be a winner but in my eyes you are always the biggest winner I know. I mean that literally by the way."

"Thank you Beck," Jade said, "I needed to hear that"

"By the way," he told her, "The only reason Tori got the lead in my play was because Sikowitz wouldn't allow me to give you the lead and she was the only girl that tried out for the lead"

"Oh. Okay. So-"

The bell rang. It was time for them to move onto sixth period.

"See you later Tori," Jade said as she and Beck walked away.
