AN- This is my first NCIS story as my usual is NCIS NOLA. This pairing has had me for a while but I have never actually wrote one out. Hope you like it and as I always say reviews are very much appreciated.

The plane hitting the runway as it landed jolted Abigail Borin awake. Rubbing her eyes she looked at her phone to see what time it was. For once her flight home had been on time and she had got back in to Washington when she expected to. It was a little after 20:00 hours and she was beat. She was in hurry when the other passenger started to get off the flight so she waited till nearly the end before standing up and making her way to the door.

Stepping on the Tarmac and walking across to the terminal she looked around her. Another warm night in the city. She had left New Orleans a few hours before after doing a joint case with them but now she was home. It was nice to be home but she knew it wouldn't last, it never did. No doubt after a few hours sleep she would be woke by her phone telling her she had another case in some weird and wonderful place and she would be off again.

Her feet were on auto pilot as they carried her into the airport and over to wait for her luggage to arrive. All she wanted was a nice shower, some pizza and a decent cup of coffee. That stuff they drank in New Orleans was an insult to the word coffee. Who in their right mind would add flavour to coffee for gods sake, especially chicory. How after spending so long drinking normal coffee Meredith Brody could drink it was beyond her but like the saying goes when in Rome.

Finally she caught sight of her bag and grabbed it before she headed to the parking lot to try and remember where she parked her car. That was the problem with being away, you had to stand and think where you parked unless you wanted to look really thick and get airport security to find it for you. It took a little less than 10 minutes to walk over and find the car from getting her bag. Chucking her bag on the back seat she climbed in and started the car before looking at the time again. It had taken half an hour to get out of there. Shaking her head she stuck the car in drive and pulled out the parking bay to head out the exit of the airport and home.

Halfway home she stopped at a pizza shop and got pizza to take out before getting a huge cup of coffee from the coffee shop across the street. Getting back in the car she put the pizza box on the seat and the cup in the drinks holder. Starting the car she pulled away from the kerb to head home but changed her mind and swung the car round and pointed it in the opposite direction.

Pulling over a few minutes later she sent a text and hoped she got a reply soon or she would just head home. Within a minute a reply came though and she smiled at the phone. Sending a reply straight back she pulled away from the kerb and set off again.

As she pulled up at the big house she saw it was in darkness and there was no car in the driveway. He still wasn't back yet. Never mind, the door would be open. Getting out the car she went and got her bag off the back seat before making her way to the passenger door and getting the pizza of the seat. She had drank her coffee but she knew there was coffee and plenty of it in the house. As she reached the front door she put her bag down and turned the handle and sure enough the door swung open allowing her entry.

Stepping inside she shut the door and walked towards the kitchen. She didn't bother with lights as she knew her way round, even in the dark. Putting the bag on the couch as she passed she went and put the pizza on the table before putting the kitchen light on and setting about making coffee. Once the coffee machine was set up and doing its thing she went and sat at the table to eat her pizza before it ended up stone cold.

As she ate she kept looking at her watch wondering how long he would be. The coffee machine beeped to say it was done so she dropped the piece of pizza she was eating back in the box and stood up. As she went to make coffee she pulled out 2 cups and placed his on the bench for when he came in. Pouring her coffee she brought it to the table and went back to eating the pizza. After eating half the pizza she closed the lid and pushed it away. Maybe half a large pizza was a bit much. Picking her coffee cup up she took a drink before standing from the table and walking over to the couch.

Picking the bag up she lay it flat and opened it. She really needed to get it washed and repacked so picking the bag up she headed to the laundry room. Since she was here and she wasn't going anywhere it could all be washed and dried and then repacked in the morning before she left. Dumping the contents into the machine she threw in some laundry detergent and switched it on.

Walking back through the house she decided it was time for a shower and bed, he still wasn't back so he could find her when he got in. Leaving the kitchen light on she put the half eaten pizza next to the coffee machine and headed upstairs. As she made her way to the bathroom she switched the bedroom light on when she passed. At least he made the bed which made a change for him. His normal was crawl out, crawl in and never mind the mess.

Smiling she went to the dresser and opened a draw where she knew he kept his t-shirts. Pulling one out she threw it on the bed and then dug out a pair of his boxers from the top draw and put them with the t-shirt. Closing the curtains she left the room and headed to the bathroom. She was pleased to see he had stocked up the towel rack and had even left her shampoo on the shelf.

Switching the shower on she stripped off her clothes and climbed in. Standing under the hot water she let it hit her shoulders and back, easing the tension away. Stepping back she let the water run through her hair and down her back. The disadvantage to long hair was washing and drying it. She set about getting washed and washing her hair before switching the shower off and reaching for a towel. She wrapped her hair in the first towel and then found a bigger towel to wrap round her body.

Padding back to the bedroom bare foot she listened to see if she could hear any noise from downstairs to indicate he was home. When she heard nothing she continued to the bedroom and sat on the bed. Drying her hair as best she could with the towel she threw it on the floor and stood as she proceeded to dry her body. As she got dry she debated on send another text but decided not to. She knew he would be home when he had a chance and she also knew he would come find her once he got back.

Once she was dry she pulled on the t-shirt and boxers and set about picking up the wet towels off the floor and headed back to the bathroom for her dirty clothes. Picking them up she dumped them in the laundry hamper and picked her service belt up which still had her weapon and cuffs attached. Carrying them through to the bedroom she put them on the nightstand and switched the bedside lamp on. Switching the main light off she climbed in to bed and settled in on his side. She lay on her front as she buried her face in to his pillow to breath in the intoxicating smell of him. No matter how much time she spent with him that was a smell she wished she could bottle and take with her.

Wrapping her arms round the pillow she pulled it tight to her as she shut her eyes and let sleep claim her. This was another reason she liked being here, she would fall asleep almost instantly in his bed. The smell of him surrounding her. The fact that even though he wasn't there she felt safe for some reason. Even with the front door unlocked she knew she was safe here in his bed.

She was woke a few hours later as she felt the bed dip down and a cool breeze brush her skin as the blankets on the bed were lifted and then put back down again. The next thing she felt was a strong pair of arms wrapped round her pulling her closer to the warm body now in bed with her. She buried her face in to his chest and took a deep breath. There it was, that smell, only this time it was real and attached to the man himself. She brought her arm up and snaked it around his waist holding him close. Neither spoke a word as they embraced each other, no words were needed.

Finally the silence was broken as she moved her head and looked up at him. All she could see in the dim light shining through the thin curtains was his eyes. Them eyes could be seen miles away, they were so bright, so blue.

"I missed you" as she reached up and brushed her lips across his.

He wound his hand up her back and slid his fingers in to her still damp hair to hold her still and stop her moving away.

"I missed you to" as he returned the gesture and kissed her back.

The only difference was he didn't break away, he kissed her till they both needed to break for air. Even then he still held her head close to him as he ran his fingers up and down her back. She missed this so much when they were apart, the closeness and the lack of words needed to express how they felt. It had always been this way with them. They seemed to be linked in some way, be it telepathy or just they knew each other too well. No words were ever really needed but they did talk a little.

"You got work tomorrow?" He asked her as he tried to pull her closer.

"Yip but it's just on call so don't actually have to go in" she replied as she let herself be pulled to him and wrap themselves together.

"Well we are lucky because I got the same. We can stay here and pray for no dead bodies between us and we should make it through" as he started kissing her again.

"Don't tease me, I will win and you know it so stop" as she gave him a few more kisses before turning over and pushing herself as far back as she could till he had her wrapped in his arms with his leg threw over hers.

"How was New Orleans? You didn't give Dwayne too much trouble did you?" He asked her as he buried his face in her hair.

"No I didn't and all I can say about New Orleans is there coffee is crap" she told him as she felt her eyes getting heavy.

"You need sleep, I can hear it in your voice. Go to sleep and we can talk in the morning" as he placed a kiss to her hair.

"Night Abby, sleep tight" he told her as he gave her one last kiss before closing his eyes.

"Night Jethro, I will now you're holding me" as she fell asleep in her lover's arms.
