Aro sighed as he released my hand. He towered over me, I was only 5'1" and he was at least 5'10".
His ruby eyes searched mine as he said sadly, slowly. "Felix."
A feral growl rolled from Felix's chest as he approached me.
He didn't seem to like the idea of attacking me.
"Master."
Aro shot him a chafed glare. "You know what must be done. She cannot know of our kind."
I trembled with fear as Felix realized going against Aro was out of the question and that I must die for knowledge of the Volturi.
I closed my eyes and waited but nothing came.
For moments I cowered and whined but Felix didn't hurt me or kill me.
But when I opened my eyes again Aro had flitted back in front of me, a disappointed look on his face.
He sighed again, a long dramatic sigh. Everyone in the room was silent as Aro peered into my very soul.
"Michelle, mia cara. Perhaps I have been too harsh, seeing as Felix has taken an interest in you."
"Why don't you kill me?" My voice was frightened. "If he won't kill me, why don't you?"
Aro softened. "Michelle, I am willing to allow you to live only if you become one of us. If not, death is the only other option you have."
