No one expected Red Hawks to be sorted into Ravenclaw. The room fell into an eerie silence as the Sorting Hat announced that Red was going to be a Ravenclaw.

Which everyone was expecting him to be a Slytherin because his Mother, who was the Headmistress happened to be a Slytherin when she graduated from Hogwarts.

Others were thinking Red was going to be a Gryffindor, because of his father who mysteriously vanished the night Red was born. He was a Gryffindor.

Some thought he possessed qualities to be in the Hufflepuff house as well.

But Red was in the House of Ravenclaw. He looked at his house mates who greeted him with warm smiles as Red sat beside a boy with spiky brown hair who simply nodded at the newcomer.

His mother stood at the front of the room and cleared her throat. She began discussing the rules and classes for First Year students but Red wasn't listening at all.

A girl with brown hair elbowed him lightly and Red snapped out of his daze. He looked at his mother who was now….looking at him.

She then looked away and turned towards the Slytherin house and smiled.

Oh of course...I get put in Ravenclaw and Mom favors them over her own son. Red thought and sighed lightly but the girl next to him sensed his distress.

She tapped his shoulder and Red looked at her. She held out her hand and whispered, "I'm Blue. First year Ravenclaw. Nice too meet you Red."

Red smiled and shook her hand, feeling satisfied that he made a friend so quickly.

Red's second and third years weren't the best but he slowly made more friends with other house people. Yellow, Whi-two, Ruby, and White from Hufflepuff. Then came along Pearl, Black, Gold, Y and X from Gryffindor. He managed to befriend Silver from Slytherin too.

But Blue remained his closest friend out of all of them. Red studied hard and usually avoided his Mother but it was difficult on the holidays because she wanted her son to stay at the school since, he was a Ravenclaw and usually gave him difficult quizzes he couldn't answer.

Blue was worried about him, Red would come to classes later than normal but the teachers knew he was with Headmistress Hawks. But the whole time he'd be in class, Red would be tired or using his cloak to hide something.

So one day before they entered their 4th year, Blue followed Red in the company of an invisibility cloak borrowed from a instructor and waited out hidden in the Headmistress's chambers, watching Red and his mom, "study".

Blue witnessed first hand the beatings Red usually got. She slapped him hard enough to leave a nasty bruise on him if Red answered wrong.

And by being there with him she was breaking curfew. As classes were over and students needed to study for exams. She was also in danger of getting caught for spying. She quickly hid and stuffed the cloak into her bag, walking over to the scene.

The Headmistress looked at Blue and smiled. It was almost toxic to look at.

"Ah Blue! Where you coming from a teacher to get Red? I don't think I heard you come in." Mrs. Hawks said.

Blue nodded as Red quickly gathered his things and ran to Blue.

"Oh Mrs. Hawks? Professor Sabrina said she's going to hold study groups in Ravenclaw Tower. So Red can't come here anymore." Blue said and gently lead her best friend out, then down the long corridor.

"Blue?"

"Yeah Red?"

"Thank you…"

Blue smiled and nodded, walking with Red to their dormitory.
