Missing Scene
He fell silent. He could hear distant footsteps.
"Is that Kreacher coming downstairs?"
"No," said Sirius, glancing behind him. "It must be somebody your end…"
Harry's heart skipped several
beats.
"I'd better go!" he said hastily and he pulled hi head backward out of
Grimmauld Place's fire.
"I hope he didn't get caught," Sirius said after his godson's fearful face had disappeared entirely from the kitchen fire.
He pulled out a chair from the table and collapsed into it, knees hurting from the floor. Leaning back he let his long hair fall over the back of the chair as he sighed heavily.
"Was a shitty way for Harry to learn more about his father, through Snape's memory nonetheless. But James and I were real prats back then."
Remus sighed and, after returning to his seat, picked up his scrap of parchment from its resting place atop a pile of dreadful looking books. He'd saved the books from Sirius' "cleaning" and had stumbled upon an old letter of Sirius' inside one of the covers. He had been reading it over when Harry had "called".
"I think it's best he talked to us about it. Otherwise he would have had a ruddy image of his parents for the rest of his life."
He replaced the letter in the book and glanced at the now pacing Sirius.
"Sit down, you're going to wear a track in the floor," he said soothingly.
Sirius walked into the den and lay on the couch, followed seconds later by Remus. He removed the newly washed blanket from the back and pulled Remus into an embrace. Covered with the spring-scented blanket Remus slid onto the man's lap and wrapped his arms around his neck. They sat for a moment, enjoying the shared warmth.
"You're right," murmered Sirius, "I worry too much about him. Harry can take care of himself. After all, he is James' kid."
Remus chuckled.
"Though he gets his common sense and strong will from Lil." He snuggled closer to Sirius and Sirius' arms tightened around his chest. After a bit he could feel Sirius begin to snore. He knew that the cleaning, wrestling objects from Kreacher, and dealing with his mother's screaming portrait were taking a lot from his love. Remus raised his wand to put out the fire in the grate. Fixing the blanket around them, he fell into a comfortable sleep.
End
A/N: This story was meant to be a one shot but if I feel it necessary I will write another chapter. I'm sorry for the blandness, I just spent a year doing hardly any creative writing. Also it should be noted this is my first fanfic in three years. Please review. Flames also welcome.
