Notes: Written for Bloody-Lucky on tumblr, who gave me the prompts Dimitri/Bill and "Heartfelt Apology". Set sometime during the flashback period of PL3, with some spoilers for Lost Future.

"There's only one thing you actually need to say here," Dimitri prompted.

Bill glared at him from where he was sat on one of the battered old chairs that littered what they classed as their 'staff room'. It wasn't a proper staff room really, but it had chairs, a table and a fridge, so it might as well be one. What it did not have however, was a packet of biscuits.

"I don't have the slightest idea what you mean," Bill grumbled.

"Sorry! You could say sorry for taking all of the biscuits!" exclaimed Dimitri, "There was a full packet of chocolate digestives here just this morning and now it's gone."

Bill sighed, "Very well – I'm sorry that you think I ate your biscuits."

"No, now don't try that. I know that it was you, because you've been the only person who's been in here this morning. And I'd have been happy to share a few of them with you, but you've gone and scoffed the lot!" scolded Dimitri, waggling a finger in Bill's direction.

"Your reasoning skills are astounding," droned Bill, "Now if you'd give me a moment to-"

But before he could finish another head popped around the door, smiling sheepishly at the two of them. As per usual, Dimitri froze completely at the sight of Claire. He's so predictable, Bill thought to himself.

"Hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I just wanted to let you know that I took my break earlier than usual today, so I can work a bit later into the afternoon," she informed, "There was a packet of digestives out on the table and, well, I just can't help myself with digestives. I'm not sure who they belonged to, but I thought I'd let you know while you're both here. I'll replace them tomorrow, okay?"

With that, she was gone. Probably darting off back to work on the time machine again. Very devoted to their work, that one. Bill couldn't fault her for that.

"Oh," Dimitri stated. It was a well-formed 'oh' that hung in the air for a few seconds afterwards.

Bill's lips curled up into a smirk. He didn't even say anything, just waited patiently for Dimitri to start babbling. And sure enough...

"I'm sorry for jumping to, um, to conclusions," Dimitri mumbled, "It was just because you were sitting here and I didn't know that Claire had already gotten in today, but... well, I should have checked."

"Apology accepted," Bill smugly concluded, getting to to reading his newspaper.
