Disclaimer: Not my players, just my playground.
Notes: Up front, I needed to get this scene out of my system. Never written for this fandom before, but might as well jump on head first, eh?
"Sam," he looked down at his feet at the brown package, just out of his reach.
"Yea?"
"What's in the bag?
"Oh, my god! I almost forgot!" She dashed back in, holding the item out like someone who'd just won their first contest; giddy with delight. "I baked these for you."
Cameron slowly opened the bag its paper top, and listening to it crinkle in protest as he did so. It felt heavy, and looked worn, as if having been carried by someone with an armload of items to shlep back and forth; as Sam often was often guilty of. He imagined the bag perched precariously atop a stack of books and documents teetering on the brink of falling.
Sam's blue eyes glimmered in anticipation.
Cam thought back to the Odyssey, the destruction of the replicators, the Ori. His near death experience. She hadn't scolded him for being reckless, again. She hadn't fretted with worry over his bedside as he recovered.
He stuck his hand down into the bag, reaching for its contents, a small smile playing on his lips as he did so.
"Macaroons." He brought the cookie to his nose and inhaled sharply.
She baked him cookies.
"They are probably not as good as your grandmothers," she replied returning his smile with one of her own.
She baked his favorite cookies. Was there anything she couldn't do?
"Nice recall." He felt her breath as she leaned in towards him.
"Cheek okay?" She asked; a hint of playfulness in her voice. Cameron tried to banish the thoughts plaguing him as he felt her lips touch his cheek. Her hair smelt of strawberries as it tickled his face.
(I love you.) He thought to himself as he watched her exit, his thoughts still racing.
Then again, who didn't?
- Fin.
